As for the last slot, so close to putting Stan over Craig. He just won a GG, albeit for a different movie, but he gave a nice speech regardless. He will almost definitely happen at SAG, and I think he will also happen at BAFTA given how The Apprentice did on the longlists.

the last time we had 4/5 first time nominees was 1966. Also ironically the first year had two actresses in foreign language performances: Kaminska and Aimée and also the only lineup without any US actress (3 British, 1 french and 1 Polish). The others were Lynn and Vanessa Redgrave and Liz Taylor

I want to make the distinction that it is highly divisive ONLINE. Nine out of every 10 reviews you read for EP will praise Sel and even the occasional review singles her out among the cast which is a feat. I think people are conflating what chronically online film twitter thinks with what general audiences and the industry thinks.

I just caught up with results, I LOVED the Demi and Sebastian wins, two great performance from similar movies. Flow, Challengers, Tadanobu Asano and Colin Farrell wins were great.

Fernanda Torres winning and Moore's speech confirmed it's Demi's Oscar to lose.  

 

Unfortunately it seems Emilia Perez is stronger with the industry and international voters

While I love EP and Anora, I blame Greta Gerwing to make us think that those two movies are arthouse spectacular movie after Cannes :suburban:

Yep. And on top of that for example the hate that is happening right now, even on websites like Rotten Tomatoes, are brazilians mad that EP won "i'm still here" international picture award without even watching the movie. 

And i say without seeing with confidence cuz they truly didn't see it, it will be released in Brazil next month. 

Of course there are a % that watched illegally, a lot of selena stans for example, but i'm sure most commenting about it and engaging on hate trains haven't.

I'm totally here for Demi + Zoe winning their first Oscars :duca:

 

Zoe was fantastic in "Emilia Perez" but my favorite role of hers is that in the Netflix series "From stratch". She broke my heart, stole the show and should've won every award for that performance.

 

Demi is a legend and long overdue :clap3:
