as long as the music is good he'll be fine.  I'm not a super fan, but his singles do tend to have a bit of longevity, even after the controversial videos, etc.

I feel like he’s at an Artpop-type impasse where he’s pushed the envelope as far as it can go and if he tries to continue to do that it’ll backfire. Hopefully he has something up his sleeve that doesn’t involve pushing boundaries/gimmicks

 

edit: ok nvm just saw his tweets and he is indeed taking the religious blasphemy route (again ). Well, let’s see how this pans out, I’m rooting for him and the hate he gets here is kinda weird
