No one would believe anything the girl said, especially when the girl herself still thought of herself as ill for long time. Off topic, but Post like these are always so interesting. It's like we're reverting back to the olden days where the belief was that humanity was beyond repairing and the punishment for most crimes/accusations was the death penalty. Then there was a period of time where people recognized that those who committed crimes do not deserve to be executed, but it seems like we're headed more towards the "You did a bad thing and thus you deserve to die" mindset. The death penalty is incredibly inhumane.

The Gypsy Rose story is truly one of the most heartbreaking stories, and it's wild how much her mother got away with. Quite jarring honestly. I feel like Gypsy truly felt like she had no choice, but that's a VERY heavy burden to bear cause she did in fact love her mother (as she has stated).
