flower moon Posted January 23 Posted January 23 was not a big fan of ep1 but the second ep it felt like it lasted forever (in a good way). the characters feel so full already. no idea whats going on yet tho? mental health, people being poisoned/hallucinating is common?? idk its veeerry creepy. maybe i shouldnt watch this before bed
Leptine Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Second episode was amazing, the plot is very interesting and also the alleged supernatural stuff, I just hope they're gonna manage to give a good resolution because this is the kind of story that start strong with so many things in the fire but that can end up in a very underwhelming way.
stochastic Posted January 24 Author Posted January 24 Ugh it’s so disheartening to see this getting review bombed by incels. Please consider leaving a positive review to help combat it. I can’t believe this is only going to be 6 eps. I’m optimistic that this means everything is tightened but I’m a little worried with the secondary plotlines; I just hope they connect. It’s also hard not to see the parallels between this and Mare of Easttown in terms of characterization (obviously not thematically) 1
Eóghan Posted January 24 Posted January 24 yeah the show is gettin review bombed on many sites. mainly imdb and rotten tomatoes
Elusive Chanteuse Posted January 24 Posted January 24 I’m confused by the tone of it. Unless I’m mistaken, Spoiler how is it possible someone was alive after being frozen? And ghosts? I’m so confused by it.
RideOrDie Posted January 24 Posted January 24 2nd episode ate a bit more than the first one and florence playing at the end! 1
Liafen Posted January 25 Posted January 25 I am sorry but the actress playing Agent Navarro is horrible in this. The same emotionless, frozen look on her face is so annoying. And she’s not helped by the fact that she has to hold her ground against one of the all time greatest actresses, welp 1

But she's like a walking one dimensional trope that just doesn't seem real. Trauma from unclosed case that 'wrecked' her because she got too invested-emotional in solving it. Holding a grudge against the Chief for supposedly doing nothing to help with that case, obviously blaming her own shortcomings. But has to work with her because new evidence came up years later. I mean, a tale as old as time, but Foster at least feels like a real person. (Though Winslet did an all too familiar version of this character in Mare of Easttown better.) 1
Liafen Posted January 25 Posted January 25 But to say something nice, Fiona Shaw is amazing in this. She truly was made for crafting characters who may not have much screentime but steal each second they're in. Fleabag and now this. 1

Dula Peep Posted January 26 Posted January 26 I’m guessing he (drank) the water with the amoeba in it and it turned him crazy then he forced everyone to strip naked and took them out to the ice until they froze?

bjorn Posted January 30 Posted January 30 Is this worth watching? The IMDb scores is quite low compared to other seasons

The IMDb scores is quite low compared to other seasons its shaping up to be much better than season 2 & 3. the low score could be because of review bombing from people thinking the show is too "woke" now 1
