Raiden Posted January 3 Posted January 3 (edited) Quote Um what I think they are saying is that in the early 80's none of them pop stars (Madge included) spoke openly about AIDS, it was end of the decade when she became vocal. Nah, AIDS itself wasn't mainstream item for celebs to comment on in the early 80s. It became one gradually as the decade continued to unfold. It was spreading already in the 1970s but completley without the knowledge of most doctors (they officially classified it and named it AIDS only in 1981, before that the working title was "Gay-Related Immune Deficiency" (GRID)). That tells you a lot aobut the limited knowledge of even experts back then. The first major celebrity news about AIDS occured in 1985 when Rock Hudson tested positive and announced it himself. Long story short, the museum signage is bullsh*t. Edited January 3 by Raiden 1

That doesn't deminish her role in fight against it Madonna's career only really took off in 1985...i don't know what you wanted her to do the first half of that decade. She actually did something from the second she did her first WW tour in 1987 and she never stopped. 1987: 1988: 1989: 1991: 1996: 1999: There's plenty more...she never stopped. 2023: 6 5

I'm pretty sure it comes from an ungreatful gay man who is bitter his lame ass fave is not like Madonna. So many of those... Here in ATRL there are plenty and it is sad. They would rather lie and spread fake bullshit than accept reality and respect this amazing and most interesting historical figure artist MADONNA. MTE.

readytowind Posted January 3 Posted January 3 That museum is such a joke. Is that some kind of a new standup comedy? They tried but failed miserably
Sergi91 Posted January 3 Posted January 3 They can’t even do a spell check let alone check their sources?
Alongoria13 Posted January 3 Author Posted January 3 I went to that museum last year and honestly I had so much fun but for a place dedicated to the celebration of sex and the removal of its stigma the lack of Madonna was very blatant. 1

GlamSlam Posted January 4 Posted January 4 They say they've amended their signage but "in the museum". They've removed the tweet, it hasn't been amended. 1
