Crazy how back then the mainstream theme was party! sex! money! fame! which is not relatable to 95% of people. Who would have thought relatable lyrics would change the mainstream music?

She isn't wrong. Both Pure Heroine and Melodrama had great influence on the music scene. Several artists attempted to have their own versions of those albums too.

Lorde kinda comes only 2nd to Lana when it comes to influential alt girls from the 10s.

The way Pure Heroine defined my entire childhood :weeps:. Crazy to see how influential it would eventually become to the future pop/alt scene

So, Lorde inspired her, yet when she was asked about most of her songs being about breakups, she couldn’t imagine what other topics a teenager could sing about. Okay :clown:

This is so sweet of her.

I love Pure Heroine but I gotta be honest if I'm in the mood to listen to Lorde I'll just listen to Melodrama cause it's better imo. Also more relatable to me.

I relate to this as well. I love Pure Heroine so much and it was one of my fave albums growing up but I never really go back to it these days outside of maybe 3-4 songs. The album feels way too highschool-y for me and I've really outgrown that phase. Melodrama is a timeless record :clap3:

Taylor did it first but ok, Olivia.

Taylor did what first? Taylor is unrelated to this topic and she didn't do anything similar to Lorde before Lorde herself.

There is literally nothing Taylor or Lana-sounding about Pure Heroine :rip: Lorde deserves her own flowers :clap3:
