Hate to be the one to bring this up, but is Paula the most reliable narrator? Didn’t she lie for years about almost dying in a plane crash? And she was also credibly accused of sexually exploiting a young idol contestant in exchange for helping him advance in the competition.

Yeah im pretty sure she was ******* a couple contestants in either seasons 3 or 4 I can’t recall

:suburban:

Not people accusing Paula of being unreliable when it comes to facts, but then straight up (no pun intended) making up stories themselves. :rip:

a) Paula has a habit of exaggerating stories for dramatic effect including the plane "crash." In her first interviews about the plane incident, she said they hit turbulence and she re-injured her neck and spine (which she already injured when she was a Laker girl). Since then she tells the story using the word "crash" and basically free styles the facts. She also does this with the origin of her hits. For an example, she says that one of the demos she eventually recorded and became her first #1 was so awful that her mom threw it in the trash in a fit of laugher. In the original story, she and her mom just didn't like it and put it to the side.

Regardless of her telephone game exaggeration talents, interviews given during talk shows for entertainment don't compare with a lawsuit.

b) Paula was never accused of sleeping with "a couple contestants in either seasons 3 or 4". Corey Clark, a contestant from season 2, claimed they had a sexual relationship.

b) Paula was never "credibly accused of sexually exploiting a young idol contestant in exchange for helping him advance in the competition." Corey Clark of season 2 claimed Paula was a great mentor to him and other contestants, but their professional relationship eventually turned into a personal and sexual one, which Paula denied. He never accused her of "exploiting" him in exchange for advancement in the TV show. It's also illogical because the alleged relationship began while he was already a finalist and his performance in the competition was up to public voting, not the judges by then. In any case, he made these claims 2 years after being kicked off Idol (for not reporting an arrest) while promoting his book. And I wouldn't use the word "credible" when an independent investigation in 2005 (that he supported himself) did not find proof of a sexual relationship.

Then all celebrities are liars. What do you think they do when they market themselves, when they go on talk shows and talk about things that supposedly happen to them and also purposely withhold information for protect their images? :skull:

Also, where is the outrage about the lies from the two posts I quoted that completed altered facts Paula-style? :skull:

If they exaggerated the truth and twist it aka free styling it then yes anyone who does it is lying, celebrity or not.

Idk about her stories to know what real or not from your post or the other two, but I quoted you because you literally give examples of lies under the excuse of "free styling" and "exaggerating" the story and say its true story when they are not :toofunny2:

I'm not rationalizing or defending what she does. I'm just pointing out that she used to do it all the time and I'm not even sure it's calculated or malicious. Haven't you watched American Idol? She was legit crazy in the 90s and 00s mumbling and jumbling and saying nonsense with all the pain meds she was on. See videos and GIFs below (and no, she's not drunk or high).

That being said, my point was that it wasn't fair to use her freestyling stories during press interviews to undermine the lawsuit, which is a legal issue, not an interview taken for entertainment purposes. She did say that someone attacked her at a party and reported it to the police back in 2006, which matches what she said in the new lawsuit:
