alestevens Posted December 29, 2023 Posted December 29, 2023 (edited) This thread is a work in progress. I wanted to compile who the female acts with most Top 10 entries on the 2 most relevant Billboard Year End charts were. Im including everyone with at least 6 entries. Avril Lavigne, Gwen Stefani, Nelly Furtado, Miley Cyrus, P!nk, Christina Aguilera, Alicia Keys and Jennifer Lopez did not get enough entries to qualify, but if im forgetting anyone else please do tell me. Hope you enjoy! 24 entries: TAYLOR SWIFT (3 DECADES ON BOTH SINGLES AND ALBUMS): 2000s - Albums (2): 2008: #5 Taylor Swift 2009: #1 Fearless 2000s - Singles (1): 2009: #4 Love Story 2010s - Albums (9): 2010: #7 Fearless 2010: #9 Speak Now 2011: #2 Speak Now 2012: #4 Red 2013: #2 Red 2014: #3 1989 2015: #1 1989 2018: #1 reputation 2019: #4 Lover 2010s - Singles (1): 2015: #7 Blank Space 2020s - Albums (10): 2020: #5 folklore 2021: #4 evermore 2022: #4 Midnights 2022: #5 Red (Taylor's Version) 2023: #2 Midnights 2023: #9 Lover 2024: #1 The Tortured Poets Department 2024: #2 1989 (Taylor's Version) 2024: #9 Lover 2024: #10 Midnights 2020s - Singles (1): 2023: #4 Anti Hero 11 entries: MARIAH CAREY (2 DECADES ON BOTH SINGLES AND ALBUMS): 1990s - Albums (3): 1991: #1 Mariah Carey 1994: #2 Music Box 1996: #2 Daydream 1990s - Singles (6): 1990: #6 Vision Of Love 1993: #8 Dreamlover 1994: #5 Hero 1995: #7 Fantasy 1996: #2 One Sweet Day 1996: #5 Always Be My Baby 2000s - Albums (1): 2005: #4 The Emancipation Of Mimi 2000s - Singles (1): 2005: #1 We Belong Together 10 entries: BEYONCÉ (including Destiny's Child - 2 DECADES ON ALBUMS): 2000s - Albums (2): 2005: #7 Destiny Fulfilled (DC) 2009: #2 I Am... What are those single stats lol They really arent that bad tbh. She's only one behind Rihanna and Madonna who have 4 each. And is one of two girls listed here with YE Top 10 songs in 3 different decades. Hopefully Cruel Summer lingers around long enough to reach Top 10 in 2024! 2

Chartman Posted December 29, 2023 Posted December 29, 2023 Great display how hard it is to stay at the very top of the music business. Madonna, the queen of pop had all entries from 1985-1995. Celine Dion everything massive happened 1996-2000. Lady Gaga 6 of her 7 entries are from 2009-2011. Katy Perry everything in the span 2010-2014. Fergie had her moments 2007-2011. Mariah Carey 1990-1996 + a successful comeback in 2005.
Rev8 Posted December 29, 2023 Posted December 29, 2023 Madonna,Celine and Britney having only 6 entries is crazy, given how many of the artists above them they outsell goes on to show that these Year-Ends ain't sht especially since this is US-only, and there have been different chart rules at the times too
Rev8 Posted December 29, 2023 Posted December 29, 2023 Wait, Fergie actually having only 3 out of 8, being truly Hers I can understand Bey's DC inclusion, since at least she makes up Most of her entries (being a strictly Female (as the title says) group too) but c'mon now wasn't Gwen Stefani eligible to be there too?, if we gonna group solo/group performances?

BB only measures chartruns... soundscan also had a year end ranking... which in some cases showed better positions. I know ss was not around for the first 8 years of Madonna's career... but still. Just the other day, a Swiftie called Mariah's E=MC² era a huge flop... it ranks #22 on BB year end chart and #18 on soundscan.
fridayteenage Posted December 29, 2023 Posted December 29, 2023 at least shake it off was top 20 2 years in a row

No she wasnt. Adding No Doubt she still topped out at 4 (3 solo and 1 from group) and the limit here is 6

It also puts into context how relevant Fergie's quick stint as a solo artist was fundamental to the late 2000s BEP domination. Despite being huge already, they weren't a chart destroying force in the US before then. After it, they just went crazy!
Hot Volcano Posted January 2 Posted January 2 The biggest kii ever is Adele releasing 25 on the first week of the Billboard chart year, had she released it a week prior, 25 would've been #1 for the 2015 YEC aswell
alestevens Posted December 16 Author Posted December 16 Updated with this year's 4 entries for Taylor. The only other females to bag a Top 10 placement were SZA on the BB200 year end (which if i'm not mistaken would place her at 5 overall year end entries), and Sabrina Carpenter and Kacey Musgraves who got their first! 2024: #1 The Tortured Poets Department 2024: #2 1989 (Taylor's Version) 2024: #9 Lover 2024: #10 Midnights
