Well, the video and the song are not that good. I'm hoping he has a back-up plan

This doesn’t show an ounce of artistic evolution. It’s a bop but very much in veins of all of his previous works. He needs to switch it up.

He also needs to switch it up with the videos, I feel like I’ve been seeing the green screen/choreography/close up shots of his face being very similar in every single video of his…

I didn't expect this to bomb this hard.

I can't believe Columbia is letting this flop :snowman: maybe they didn't renew the contract with the streaming farms

Yep. Industry Baby which is now one of the most streamed songs of the decade didn't take off right away when it came out...Also, Nas X is usually p. smart with his promo roll outs so I wouldn't declare it a flop just yet.

No he's a viral artist. He relies on the GP to see his antics and thus stream his songs, same with Industry Baby. I really feel like his label sees him as a social media cash cow, and once the viral-ness of his act dries up they wont know what to do with him.

It shows in his music, the lack of production, lyrics, they give him cheap stuff and expect the gp to eat it up. All the signs of a viral act.

He has the music to back it up as we can see from the  singles from Montero.

No he does not sis. The music has been cheap and bland and you can see it from the reception this song is getting on twitter and other platforms. General consensus is people are kinda tired of him and realizing the lack of quality in his music.

His last singles did well enough because he was at the height of his viral success, he isn't now so you see it in the lack of any meaningful GP reception with this single. Which is what I said in the first place.

Maybe he should hit up Todrick Hall who releases good pop music, instead of paying him dust.

Wrong! Industry Baby did exceptionally well upon release on all platforms. It literally debuted at no.2…..

This is okay... possibly a grower. Doesn't touch Montero or Industry Baby, but it's better than most of the album tracks from his album.

I want to compliment the outtro for actually being a new sound for him but then I remembered it should have been a bridge and the song should have hit the three minute mark

Yep and then it stalled... it didn't hit #1 until like 2 or 3 months AFTER debuting at #2... it was starting to free fall then he did what LNX always does, he's a marketing genius because he comes from stan culture so it went #1 months later. However, the question is can he do it again. Not sure tbh but we'll see.

I think you’re missing the point. IB was a hit out the gate. Even if it was free falling (it wasn’t), the song the remained in the top 10 for more than 6 weeks before hitting no.1. This song is doing no where close to industry Baby’s numbers…he will be lucky if it hits top 20. TikTok is the only thing to save this song rn

Montero debuted at #1 and IB at #2… this selective memory :skull:

Slow your roll and don't speak on an album you have not heard yet.

this's kind of a bad move for him

I'm surprised he's underperforming. I was sure he would get another viral hit.
