Strawberry Bubble Posted January 12 Posted January 12 Well, the video and the song are not that good. I'm hoping he has a back-up plan
Crank_It_Up Posted January 12 Posted January 12 This doesn’t show an ounce of artistic evolution. It’s a bop but very much in veins of all of his previous works. He needs to switch it up. He also needs to switch it up with the videos, I feel like I’ve been seeing the green screen/choreography/close up shots of his face being very similar in every single video of his…
unclefloprry Posted January 12 Posted January 12 I can't believe Columbia is letting this flop maybe they didn't renew the contract with the streaming farms 3

Industry Baby which is now one of the most streamed songs of the decade didn't take off right away when it came out...Also, Nas X is usually p. smart with his promo roll outs so I wouldn't declare it a flop just yet. 1 1 1

Afterglow Posted January 12 Posted January 12 6 minutes ago, littlebodybigheart said: lil nas is a slow burn type of artist. we need to wait until january No he's a viral artist. He relies on the GP to see his antics and thus stream his songs, same with Industry Baby. I really feel like his label sees him as a social media cash cow, and once the viral-ness of his act dries up they wont know what to do with him. It shows in his music, the lack of production, lyrics, they give him cheap stuff and expect the gp to eat it up. All the signs of a viral act. 4

He has the music to back it up as we can see from the singles from Montero. Edited January 12 by Cap87 2

The music has been cheap and bland and you can see it from the reception this song is getting on twitter and other platforms. General consensus is people are kinda tired of him and realizing the lack of quality in his music. His last singles did well enough because he was at the height of his viral success, he isn't now so you see it in the lack of any meaningful GP reception with this single. Which is what I said in the first place. Maybe he should hit up Todrick Hall who releases good pop music, instead of paying him dust. Edited January 12 by Afterglow

Wrong! Industry Baby did exceptionally well upon release on all platforms. It literally debuted at no.2….. 1
Ewan Chaos Posted January 12 Posted January 12 This is okay... possibly a grower. Doesn't touch Montero or Industry Baby, but it's better than most of the album tracks from his album.
Cap87 Posted January 12 Posted January 12 (edited) https://twitter.com/ChartLilNasX/status/1745952931017322683 The song is sitting at #7 on the worldwide ITunes chart Edited January 12 by Cap87
ImpressMeMuch Posted January 13 Posted January 13 I want to compliment the outtro for actually being a new sound for him but then I remembered it should have been a bridge and the song should have hit the three minute mark

Yep and then it stalled... it didn't hit #1 until like 2 or 3 months AFTER debuting at #2... it was starting to free fall then he did what LNX always does, he's a marketing genius because he comes from stan culture so it went #1 months later. However, the question is can he do it again. Not sure tbh but we'll see.

Even if it was free falling (it wasn’t), the song the remained in the top 10 for more than 6 weeks before hitting no.1. This song is doing no where close to industry Baby’s numbers…he will be lucky if it hits top 20. TikTok is the only thing to save this song rn Edited January 13 by ToraeGilt

Jude Posted January 13 Posted January 13 I'm surprised he's underperforming. I was sure he would get another viral hit.
