Research shows religious people are more likely to be against gay marriage

This is a new study from Pew Research. It shows that those people who say religion is most important in their lives support gay marriage the least. Check out the graph below. They did not make distinctions between different religions, they just asked how important religion is to people in different places. You see Sweden being perhaps the least religious country in the world and also the most supportive of gay marriage (nearly 100%), and then Nigeria and Indonesia being totally opposite (nearly 0%).

Who would have thought s:wan:

Jokes aside, I don't think religions by themselves are the problem. It's just that the most practiced religions all around the world have severe homophobic tendencies.

Like, I don't believe in astrology, but if it has enough to become a religion, I don't see it becoming an homophobic mess like most religions

Thailand serving "I'm beautiful in my way cause GOD makes no mistakes, I'm on the right track, baby, I was born this way!!".

South Korea being as homophobic as Poland. Oh wow.

I think astrology counts more as spritualism. Religions are more like guidelines on how to live.

Check out the difference in these countries between young and old people. Asia's future looks very progressive. Maybe the more queer representation lately in (streaming) TV shows and movies is helping to normalize same-sex relationships for them.

Taiwan is just a tiny bit more supportive than South Korea but their LGBTQ laws are way more progressive. Japan, in theory, being the most supportive of the Asian countries but the rights for LGBTQ people are not much better than South Korea. It's not all black and white.

True. And look at the the post above with the table showing differences in attitudes between generations. There's a pro LGBT revolution happening in Asia as we speak.

Oh sis BL is single-handedly going to normalize homosexuality for an entire generation. And we know which OGs to give credit to. :gaycat1:

It’s more like cults in a mass scale

They don’t want you to think for yourself and restricting your sexual desires is one of the easiest way to control people

Someone as Spiritual as for example Jesus or some superior entity would never be homophobic since it’s based on hate and fear.

These massive cults are the funniest **** because there is nothing more contradictory in this planet.

No one hates as much as Christians and Muslims in this planet.

Wow, I never thought of it like that.
