Bussea Posted December 23, 2023 Posted December 23, 2023 I used to put everything in one unreleased folder, but ever since last year I’ve been organizing everything by year and era. I’ve seen people commonly do this and thought it was interesting and kept everything from being such a cluster **** For example, with Kesha & Lana: I look at the years an album was recorded and put them under one album or for an unnamed album (unless the unnamed album becomes another album) I just put it in an unreleased folder. I like to keep everything alphabetical and I separate demos/alt mixes by putting them on a “second disc”
tost1 Posted December 23, 2023 Posted December 23, 2023 I honestly just ignore the existence of unreleased music, I can't be bothered to download music when i have spotify 4
Gelato Posted December 23, 2023 Posted December 23, 2023 I don't really listen to it unless I'm on my laptop and it's on YouTube. I don't even know how I would download it on my phone
ATRL Moderator khalyan Posted December 23, 2023 ATRL Moderator Posted December 23, 2023 The unreleased music I have I put into one album per artist regardless of the album session they came from. 1
galomika Posted December 23, 2023 Posted December 23, 2023 nowadays I don't even listen to the official tracks more than once(cuz most of it is A.I. created filler)
Nightingale Posted December 23, 2023 Posted December 23, 2023 I only listen to it on YouTube. It bothers me so much to try to make it an album or organize it since it’ll never be a real album
keshasfillers Posted December 23, 2023 Posted December 23, 2023 I gave up when I switched to Spotify 1
TakeYouToHell Posted December 23, 2023 Posted December 23, 2023 I just put "Unreleased" album will all tracks tacked cause I'm too lazy to have it organised by eras. But if it's a scrapped album with actual title, track list (and sometimes cover) I combine released tracks + with unreleased ones like that: 1
nostalgic Posted December 23, 2023 Posted December 23, 2023 Generally - If it's unreleased, I don't really care about it.

loveisdead9582 Posted December 24, 2023 Posted December 24, 2023 Before I fully Committed to streaming, I’d either do a demos album or I’d attach it as an additional song to whatever album it was originally intended for. Nowadays, I don’t really listen to demos outside of YouTube.
Cruel Summer Posted December 24, 2023 Posted December 24, 2023 I typically glue it onto the album for which it was intended or pile it all into one “Unreleased” compilation per artist. For Charli specifically, however, I do a lot more work. First, the solo version of Doing It is on my Sucker digital copy, and the duet version is completely deleted. Then, I have XCX World mocked up to as close to the real thing as we’ll ever get, with the one exception of including the original version of Summer Love (the most minimal version, not the overproduced mess from later) even though it probably wasn’t really intended for that album (I just can’t live without it and that feels like the best home for it). I have the 24 Hour Album project separately listed as well. Demos and tracks that we know were intended for a particular album usually go with that album, listed as a second disc. In the case of her self-titled album, though, there’s so much good material that she left on the cutting room floor that I split a lot of that off into a separate sixteen-track listing of The Charli Sessions. Crash is getting close to needing that treatment as well, but I don’t love it as much as I love Charli and the material from those sessions. 1

SLUTTVFTV Posted December 24, 2023 Posted December 24, 2023 for some reason i can't upload songs to spotify so I have a Lana Unreleased folder on Google Drive
Jeremiah Posted December 24, 2023 Posted December 24, 2023 (edited) It also happened with me that I stopped listening to unreleased music when streaming came in, mainly because then I wouldn't have songs occupying space on my phone and then because I lost the habit of organizing my music library. When I used to do it, I'd keep it all the unreleased songs by an artist in a same "album". I knew which eras they were most likely from but it wasn't very appealing for me to create separate "albums" sorted that way. Also it was much easier to just go to said "Unreleased" album if I wanted to listen to an unreleased song. Unless it was a full-on project that wasn't ever released, like Lana's "Sirens" and such, I'd keep it that way like any other normal album. Edited December 24, 2023 by Jeremiah 2
PaloSanto Posted December 24, 2023 Posted December 24, 2023 well it depends I only use unreleased songs from my original main 3 faves even if I dont really listen to those artists as much nowadays. I used to take the time to sort every song by era and group them as "Kylie Minogue - Fever Sessions" or whatever but these days I just have all her unreleased under one big "Unreleased" label and I just use disc number on the tags to keep it slightly more organized, so say: songs on Disc 1 on the "Unreleased" Kylie album are all outtakes from her 1994 self titled album. Disc 2 are Impossible Princess, Disc 3 is Light Years and so on. I use the same method for Britney and Madonna the only other 2 artists I ever gave a **** enough to go through their unreleased wikipedia pages as a teenager. Tho I admit I still keep track when something new surfaces from them. For my other more faves that I started stanning late in highschool or more recently, like Taylor, Beyoncé & Dua I havent bothered sorting the files so they're all with whatever label they came from 1
