Doesn’t look like he’ll get out :toofunny3:

A mental health assessment used as part of the sentencing hearing said he "continued to express the intent to return to cybercrime as soon as possible. He is highly motivated.

The Hacker has previously been involved in hacking other companies:

Quote

Kurtaj aided by Lapsus$ associates, hacked the servers and data files of telecoms company BT and EE, the mobile operator, before demanding a $4m (£3.1m) ransom on 1 August 2021.

Quote

He continued hacking with Lapsus$ and successfully breached Nvidia, a Silicon Valley tech giant that makes chips for artificial intelligence chatbots, in February 2022.

Quote

Kurtaj was moved into a Travelodge hotel in Bicester for his safety and given strict bail conditions including a ban from going on the internet.

But Kurtaj carried on hacking

Who is he a danger to though? :deadbanana2:That's a child with autism and a hobby. If it's that serious, sentence him to a lifetime without the internet or hire him for some government agency. He doesn't deserve to be locked away for life :deadbanana4:

the GTA stuff was the most high profile but he's also guilty of breaking into bank accounts of hundreds of people and stealing their life savings, he was already in secure police custody with no access to computers for hacking into the UK's biggest telephone companies and stealing their user data and actually pulled off the GTA hack using the android TV in his holding place. he's a danger because of his disregard to how his actions impact regular people beyond the companies he also breaks into.

So people really don’t read anything other than the headline? :rip:

It took me two clicks and a few minutes to read the article which provides all the reasons he got this sentence.
