The issue isn't the members of Congress are old. It's that they're all largely wealthy and come from wealthy backgrounds. Nimirata was born to academics and business owners. She became an army wife for political clout. She lived in high society in California and South Carolina. Neither someone like Haley amongst the Republicans or Buttigieg amongst Democrats understand the material needs of Millennials - the first generation in modern times to be on average worse off than their parents. Young people believe healthcare should be free. That education should be free. That America should focus on making life better, not fighting wars abroad.
