ThinkLater Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 Good for her. But what has changed other than the record label? wasnt she pretty much given freedom for gaga order? i mean she never had a jojo situation where she couldnt released or perform old music, right?
Jooj Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 Omg this feels so surreal, and that coupled with the lawsuit settlement, im just so happy for her Now release a compilation album of your best unreleased songs from '05 - '09 to celebrate mom 1

She still would probably want a full new setup going forward. Your record label giving you freedom to release what you want doesn't mean you won't still have to interact with all the people there all the time. 2
Spicy_TyTy Posted December 20, 2023 Posted December 20, 2023 Yes finally - a fresh new start is what she deserves and has done for such a long time. This is a second coming for Kesha, she'll come back more confident than ever before with the new era. Sure, she might not see the same commercial success she once had but I hope she comes back with her magnum opus that's true to where she is at which you could see with Gag Order. 1

She may have had creative freedom but Gag Road got 0 promotion, and nothing since Praying has really been given a proper push. I feel like she was basically allowed to release albums just so the label could keep her and stunt her potential while saying they held up their end of the deal. I'm excited for her future and hope her songs are more light, being on the other side of this must be so healing. I hope she gets to claim her space in the indie/alt girl scene or just become a rocker chick. The basics never got to hear her more intimate "deep" songwriting so she has a lot to show the world. 3

SinnerCity Posted December 21, 2023 Posted December 21, 2023 So so happy for her! Now she’s free and in full creative control! Hopefully she goes back to full commercial pop! It’d be a great comeback for sure 1

Galah Posted December 22, 2023 Posted December 22, 2023 So happy for her! It's been 84 9 years... Can't believe people are talking other labels already, I honestly hope she stays independent. Dr. Luke's main goal was just to keep her tied up long enough until she was past her prime years and unfortunately he kinda succeeded in that regard, but that doesn't mean she can't still make amazing music. However, signing to a major label will significantly impact her ability to do so on her own terms (and actually release it). A major label honestly has nothing to offer her at this point in her career. Gag Order was honestly a bit of a chop for me (Kesha stans please resist the urge to try and "disprove" my completely subjective personal taste!) but I know Kesha is super talented so hopefully whatever comes next will be dynamite.
