There’s nothing to praise the disgusting church for. I am just dying laughing at the meltdowns in r/catholicism. They think he’s the Antichrist :ahh:

And Catholics on Reddit (and I’m sure in real life) are bitching about the evils of “blessing homosexuality”. This is not a group of people whose “blessing” is needed for anything, especially since that organization has done everything from systematically protecting predators, supporting the N*zis during WWII, and doing so much damage to women’s reproductive rights around the world. They can rot.

The edgy takes in here already. :skull:

This is wonderful news and I'm happy for same-sex couples who want to be blessed by the Church. :clap3: This is great progress.

And with one declaration, the pope basically condemns all these people to hell because instead of righting the flock and showing them the narrow path, he condones their sinful lifestyles.

Devastating. I have nothing to do but pray for the salvation of their souls. And for God to have mercy on our church leadership.

Why would we want the blessing from such a horrible organization that has killed so many throughout history?

I understand that many gays have a problem with religions. I do too. But this is good news and honestly? Our community also needs to learn to live in peace with religious groups instead of always seeing them as enemies. Billions of people are religious. Not everyone who is religious is homophobic. I think what the Pope is doing here is good and he deserves my respect. I hope people finally realize that we are also part of society and that we are not bad people. One day, people will finally live together in peace.

Oh I’m excited for the fallout from this one

Oh shit.

Gays won in the end. Gays always win. :ryan3:

I mean if you’re not religious you don’t have to care but whether you like it or not there are billion Christians and some are LGBTQ so it’s a win for them.

I’m glad they are abandoning and isolating those homophobic members of their organization

They probably just realized that they no people under 40 is keeping up with them

That organization will still be over in the next 30 years

Now time to focus in the biggest evil organization now which is Islam

Not these PDF files talking about ‘’moral analysis’ - the cheek, the nerve, the audacity, the gall and the gumption!

The way this means basically nothing (People currently in gay relationships can get 'blessed', not relationships themselves aka 'Hate the sin, not the sinner!;))' is I guess out of the window?) and people are acting like he's organizing orgies in sistine chapel  :dies:

However, this is still progress, idk why are some in here acting so edgy with brain-dead 'who carez??' takes, like a lot of people? I too wish that religion could disappear altogether or that every churchgoer stops being homophobic in a instant, but we have to be realistic. You couldn't even dream of reading a news article like this even a decade a go; it's a miniscule step, but it's a step in the right direction nonetheless, and I'm happy if it makes some of our fellow sistren find acceptance from their religious families they wouldn't otherwise have.

I’m going to need a personal apology from this man on behalf of the organization.  He should just request from each diocese a list of queer people who left the church and get to drafting.

As long as there are third world countries they’ll still be in business.

Listen, I don't follow or even like any religion but denying it's influence on society, past and present, is just really dumb and naive.

And that's incredibly progressive coming from him.
