I understand that many gays have a problem with religions. I do too. But this is good news and honestly? Our community also needs to learn to live in peace with religious groups instead of always seeing them as enemies. Billions of people are religious. Not everyone who is religious is homophobic. I think what the Pope is doing here is good and he deserves my respect. I hope people finally realize that we are also part of society and that we are not bad people. One day, people will finally live together in peace.

I too wish that religion could disappear altogether or that every churchgoer stops being homophobic in a instant, but we have to be realistic. Listen, I don't follow or even like any religion but denying it's influence on society, past and present, is just really dumb and naive.
