Britney was bullied by media and paparazzi.

You also have the likes of Dixie chicks, Lauryn, lil Kim, and a few others with legitimate claims. 

 

Madonna is obvious. They didn’t want her to change the game: 1989 and 1992 were more notable. 

Mariah had her ex push JLo not because they thought she could compete but to prove the point that someone with a sliver of the singing talent can copy Mariah’s formula and get more success thus diminishing Mariah’s contribution and making it clear that anyone could do it and Mariah was not integral to her own success.

 

Cher as well she faced huge misogyny it just from Sonny but also from the industry doubting her talent and abilities because she was no longer youthful.

With Britney, they took it to the next level on some Marilyn Monroe type stuff.

 

Labels spend way too much money to protect their artists image and Jive used Justin to tarnish her image. They were both on the same level but Britney renegotiated her contract before oops to extend the three albums to seven and she got a veterans deal making way more money then they like artists to make and since they had no plan post teen pop they wanted to take protection from her and ever since that break up Jive pushed a rollout to make Britney look bad wit Justinused as the puppet and paps were paid to stalk her to expose her personal flaws as that was supposed to ruin her career. Many celebs like chili from TLC, fat joe and other randoms confirmed the obvious attempt to force Britney to…. herself.

While the hate was real the love was real too and their plan didn’t end her career it made her more embedded in pop culture. they begrudgingly gave her a comeback deal (to which Joseph Kahn recalled a story about RCA not wanting to give more money for the womanizer video for a “crazy btch” but it’s business they knew she was prime for a comeback but they didn’t want to be in that position as they set up Blackout for disaster pushing her on the vmas while not ready, leaking demos a month in advance, and no one wanted to take credit/be blamed for the flop so they allowed her execs producer credit and she proved herself again.

 

Then there’s the whole conservatorship, post freedom backlash and other things.

 

All five ladies experience some of the harshest sabotage in that industry.
