Meanwhile, “DJ Play a Christmas Song” spends a third week at No. 1 on the Adult Contemporary chart. It became Cher’s first leader on the list since “If I Could Turn Back Time,” which led for a week in September 1989, as she ended the longest gap between No. 1s in the chart’s 62-year history: 34 years, two months and one week (surpassing John’s absence of 23 years, 11 months between “Something About the Way You Look Tonight” and his own modern holiday hit, “Merry Christmas,” with Ed Sheeran, two Yuletide seasons ago).

“DJ Play a Christmas Song” has also topped the Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales and Holiday Digital Song Sales charts, as Cher has now claimed visits to No. 1 on Billboard song surveys in every decade since the 1960s, including her run as half of Sonny & Cher.

She deserves to be in the Hall of Fame! She has classics, longevity and embodies the Rock n Roll attitude of not giving a f

And don't use the flopping excuse - lots of people in that hall of fame have strings of flop music too

Kelly lose a lot of weight, hee face look so young like Idol Kelly young.

But why hell she talks over her guest like that,  its giving Tyra Bank.

And imagine thinking DJ play a Christmas song is innovative....

Cher saying she changed pop with believe??? Like when? She's so into herself that she doesnt even know what shes saying. Believe changed nothing. Maybe only for her career resurrection.

And acting like as if she's got a new hot 100 no. 1. Is just :rip:

For reality adult contemporary chart.

Lmao

She needs to stop acting like she's everything to the world.

But she's not:tsk:

Cher’s “Believe” was the first song ever to have autotune. It did change pop music.

Didn't that song literally bring auto-tune into the mainstream? Y'all are really gonna sit there and act as if that didn't influence music in the 2000s? :skull:

All you just told us is that you have no idea what you are talking about.

Autotune was literally known as “the Cher effect” because it was so innovative at the time

The fact that she’s not in it, is absolutely ridiculous and honestly disrespectful.

Cher has left her mark and obviously had a great career, but she doesn’t belong in the RRHOF. She hasn’t significantly contributed to or impacted modern music or ”at least” has an undeniable catalogue of acclaimed quality material.

Like autotune is such a great thing to be invented. Great a tool invented for people you can’t actually sing. Good job. :toofunny3:

Controversial take but she’s honestly known more for her personality and crazy outfits. She hasn’t really contributed anything to music. I don’t think she even writes her own songs. And why is she so proud of making auto tune mainstream lol

This right here. She has more of a chance goin in with Sonny than on her own.

using some kind of technology is not an achievement. she has not changed anything. using that technology is not even her skill.

autotune is not even a music genre either.

i dont agree with her coming out and saying she changed pop.

actually she followed and pasted electronic and techno music which madonna had adopted and experimented to the mainstream for the first time before her and the earliest.

to my view, she didnt change anything in pop.

just followed what madonna did and added an autotune for a sauce to it.

she can keep being pressed while not inducted there.

i assume she's still unbelievably successful, and will be without it
