How are people laughing, is this not pure degeneracy? Anytime I open social and see gay men posted on popular accounts (outside of gay circles), the comments are flooded with homophobia and vitriol. Doing weird sh*t like this in the current political climate is only going to push more toxic narrative about gay people being sex-crazed perverts, and the fact that there’s a good chance the next president will be a Republican will make that climate even worse. 
 

And in before the “they don’t need to see us act like this, they’ll think that regardless comments” I am very aware that homophobes are depraved people, but **** like this doesn’t exactly help to paint a healthy and civil image of gay men; both in America, where homophobia is on the rise, and on the world stage where they just wait for the opportunity to spew hatred.

There’s literally nothing you or we can do. There are thousands if not millions of ‘healthy and civil’ gay men living lives rn and homophobes will never choose to acknowledge that. Some people love respectability politics. It's stupid. What they should be fighting for is marginalized groups to NOT be seen as a monolith rather than policing behavior of those who may share an identity with them. You know how many videos there are of straight people having sex in absolutely insane places? More than gay people yet they aren't judged as a whole because those who are privileged and hold the power have the ability to be seen as individuals. That's what we need to strive to achieve too.
