Well you're right no one was physically harmed but one of the most important parts of sex is consent. People are free to do whatever they like with other people that consent to those things. The problem is when you have sex in a public place, the other people around you did not consent to see or be involved in that. I think it would be one thing if this was an empty field in the middle of nowhere but this is people's place of work. Anyone could've walked in and multiple people will have to sit there in future. Not to mention the poor cleaner who is going to have to wipe the whole surface down and clean up any unsightly stains.

Well, I think they should be the ones who cleaned the place afterwards, but the perks of having power is that you can do stuff like this and have something else clean up your mess afterwards. Not my prefered way of doing things, but I can't do much about that.

 

Again, no one was there, as far as I know? If we want to discuss the ethics of public sex then that's fine, you don't have to agree with it. But this defense of the people who work there is so weird, like you know the senators' job (or any other politician's) is to steal away people's power and resources every day right? Why do y'all care about them like this? This is nothing compared to the nasty stuff that goes down there every day. And again, no one was there.

Regardless, you cannot obsess over how the action of one person in the community is going to “validate” bigotry. Bigotry will always exist. We just have to push back and call it out.
