It would have been such an interesting thing for her to play both older Halle (hypothetically in The Color Purple) and older Chloe (in The Fighting Temptations)

They are just too huge to be seen as actual characters. Yes and No Whitney smashed Bodyguard bc she basically played herself and Gaga A Star is Born ... but Gaga was also good in Gucci The difference is that Gaga is very theatrical and actually i could consider her an actress Rihanna and Beyonce tried for fan to act but its true that they can't and its alright. Not everybody has to do everything 1
Fleahive Posted December 14, 2023 Posted December 14, 2023 Y’all talking they’re too big and distracting to play in the movie but Oprah was the queen of talk show tv before her role in the original
Fleahive Posted December 14, 2023 Posted December 14, 2023 I do wonder how much the Queen would ask for. 25 million to mumble some words on the lion king. I feel like she’d ask for double since that role requires effort and camera time.

You have to be delusional to think Disney actually paid her $25 million to voice a minor role in a movie that was already guaranteed to be huge 1

Baby if you think that’s what I’m saying then click the report button, but you obviously are looking for a reason to take it there. Any slight at someone’s intelligence can be uncharitably interpreted to be an ableist attack. But when someone routinely displays a lack of logic and trolls incessantly, I’m not going to be shy about pointing out their inability to hold a real, logical conversation. Plus, she's a horrible actress Glad they made the right decision to cast Fantasia. You talk more about Beyoncé than her own fans. Yes you are a stan
Alexz Posted December 14, 2023 Posted December 14, 2023 I feel like Beyoncé knows she can't hurt her brand acting ever again.

Cookie Lyon is a tv icon and she led a box office smash about MATH. taraji in the same article talked about how it's frustrating that she still has to audition. “I’ve been getting paid and I’ve been fighting tooth and nail every project to get that same freaking [fee] quote. And it’s a slap in the face when people go, ‘Oh girl, you work all the time. You always working.’ Well, goddammit, I have to. It’s not because I wish I could do two movies a year and that’s that. I have to work because the math ain’t mathing. And I have bills,” she vents, with some tears. “Listen, I’ve been doing this for two decades and sometimes I get tired of fighting because I know what I do is bigger than me. I know that the legacy I leave will affect somebody coming up behind me. My prayer is that I don’t want these Black girls to have the same fights that me and Viola [Davis], Octavia [Spencer], we out here thugging it out." 1
Phaunzie Posted December 14, 2023 Posted December 14, 2023 No one was pressuring this girl to get no Rihanna or Beyonce. Neither of them can act in love action, well at least Rihanna can do voicework but you get the point. That's a bold-faced lie
rzal Posted December 14, 2023 Posted December 14, 2023 But why did they make The Color Purple on a 100m budget? The original grossed 100m
Afterglow Posted December 14, 2023 Posted December 14, 2023 Everyone always looks over Raven Symone for major acting gigs

In fact, it was the success of the film and her turn in the role of Sofia that got her show picked up nationally in 1986. Up to that point, it was only aired in Chicago. Soda Pop Queen Posted December 15, 2023 Posted December 15, 2023 If this was for the role of Shug Avery, then I can kinda see what the studio was thinking but I'm glad it went to a more underrated singer.
