Still her best album imo.

Haunted, No Angel & Jealous have yet to be topped I fear

Huge moment. She had everyone talking about her and listening to that album, which is her best album.

Literally shifted the culture :jonny6: Her best album

XO remains one of her most underrated songs to date :clap3:

Partition and Haunted are still outstanding but most of the others have not aged well for me.

If I'm reaching for a Beyonce album I'm grabbing Lemonade or RENAISSANCE, not this one.

There's an industry before and after self-titled. A QUEEN.

Came to say something along the lines of this.

It was the cuntiest move in music history. The gag of all gags. And the quality was there too. I can't think of anything else that could be done to match the nerve she showed with this one. And I say that as a part-time OBH.

It’s her second best album (was her best until Renny came along). It truly changed the industry, and it’s a pop culture moment I’m so thankful I got to live through.

It was EVERYWHERE. Only thinking looking back, I wish I appreciated it when it debuted. Took me a while to really give it the flowers it deserved after the hype settled.

Girl, the woman was predicted by many to FLOP and do less than 100k but she did 1 MILLION in 10 days

Same here back then I only liked a Beyoncé song with trumpets bass and an 808 drum. It took me YEARS to appreciate the experimental sounds and I’m so glad I love them now. I remember I thought Blue was a boring lazy filler track lol now it makes me cry.

She was predicted to flop so had to do something so people would talk about her.

This was such a bittersweet moment for me, since I was dealing with a loss in my family. But, when I was finally able to fully immerse myself in the album and the overall era—I was living it up. It was a grand moment overall; such a fun time!

I feel like she needed this release with the eighteen music videos for free because the quality wasn't there so she needed a gimmick. The album hasn't endured the test of time, it’s dated and very of its time.

The GP doesn’t remember the surprise release or mention it today any more than they do Rih’s 460 copies of Anti

Her best album. Everything she put out after this paled in comparison. Love this record :heart2:
