Polgg48 Posted December 17, 2023 Author Posted December 17, 2023 (edited) alright let me add the last album from year end list. Oscar van Dillen - Elements 87: Francium - Electroacoustic ok let's roll for top 10 Album of the Year list [10 - 1] after so many girls albums week by week this year, ive got my opinions and finally this is it. 10) Sexyy red - hood hottest princess initially this was my red bad score because of off beat and quite generic music, sometimes p4k melon moments shred the light and now she's on my non-stop rotation since deluxe dropped. hilarious bars, blast energy unlike recent female rappers albums, what the **** indeed. highlight: Hood Rats 9) Tirzah - trip9love...??? magnificent hour, we already know what she is capable of yet her magic again works here. so ethereal atmospheric on lo-fi trap beat, her melodies are so lovely. i would say this just... absolute beautiful highlight: 2 D I C U V 8) Urias - HER MIND the debut on last year also on my best hip hop album list and almost everybody didn't made it this year outside of very few artist. she is one of exceptional class act and her flexible formula is brilliant creative as performed here. she is talent. highlight: NEO THANG 7) Leah Kate - Super Over my view about her has always changed up since start of pandemic, nonetheless she keeps her composure to deliver the good body of work for her tiktok club. i could not count how many times im on this album... im such a fan. highlight: desperate 6) Within Temptation - Bleed Out most metal band always got two choices nowadays whether they continue old sound and remaining fans keep coming back support them or venture into new territories where metal isnt cool anymore. sharon knows and adapt, she exceeds my expectation and current sound from them actually great. highlight: ritual 5) Moniek Darge & Vanessa Rossetto - Dream Soundies this album is individual paid on bandcamp and y'all can try this out of curiosity. why is this good? both of them are renowned experimental artists and quite accomplished all the sound college senses with this otherworldly work. nice production, feel the music. highlight: Bricks 4) L'Rain - I Killed Your Dog delighted to see user lists here pop this album up because this is actually good album. it is, the neo-psychedelia production and her melodies are virtually impeccable, cohesive visual is displayed, masterful skills and lighten your minds to positive reception. highlight: 5 to 8 Hours a Day (WWwaG) 3) Ronce - Crève nice found on midweek release and blew me up from her post-industrial on ASMR uses. everyone sees ASMR as gimmick and quite boxed in limitied comedies terrain. pushing boundaries among genre, the visual is haunted and creepy, quite emotional too. highlight: All Girls Are Special 2) Laurel Halo - Atlas bit of tim hecker vibe but her attempt on ambient makes me howling throught the run. beautiful synths, amazing notes by heaven sent notes, absolute fine work of ambient and worth the time ive spent majority of my days investing on ambient genre this year. highlight: Late Night Drive 1) Hana Stretton - Soon and this is my album of the year yassss, when i want to listen music, i wanna know artist's presentation what they are willing to share their thought process about their album. this one is one of special kind in the sense that you stay with her guiding throught forest. appreciating the nature living via field recording technique and freeform folk that almost like she sit next to you, walk with you, and even chat with you. this is music in my own term. highlight: Changing Weather end of my thread, thanks for everyone reading this. until next year, hopefully. ** i might back on other section but for now, it's done. Mr. Blue_Shirt Posted December 17, 2023 Posted December 17, 2023 Hood Hottest Princess is such a fun background music for me like, I don't have to take it seriously to enjoy it ijbol And I also like Urias album. Love how she blended different genres in here and it doesn't sound messy as I thought It would be
K$Ellie Posted December 23, 2023 Posted December 23, 2023 Sexyy Red and Leah Kate being the most recognisable people in your top 10 is kinda iconic jsdhfs love Leah, the album had a ton of bops (and some filler) but no comment on the other girl although Rich Baby Daddy >>> Softscars was such a moment, didn't expect something even better than Glitch Princess but they did that! love Amaarae's album and Neggy's had a couple of bops too
ATRL Moderator Tsareena Posted December 23, 2023 ATRL Moderator Posted December 23, 2023 living for your lists. I see so many indie faves like Lael Neale and Julie Byrne. Sexyy Red had an amazing year and glad to see her here too
