Kayseri Mantisi Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 it was inevitable since they kinda have been rendered useless
Anthinos Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 Tbh, I'm a little sad. I kinda liked E3. Times are changing and E3 is no longer needed. RIP. 3
Crashed Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 Great, now we have to suffer through those dreadful Geoff Keighley events for the rest of our lives I'm gonna miss E3.
Hephaestus Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 I mean, it's been over for a while let's be real. It'll be missed though, after all it was the event when it came to games. 2
ATRL Moderator feelslikeadream Posted December 12, 2023 ATRL Moderator Posted December 12, 2023 Nooooooooo, I love E3 Always such an exciting time for gamers, seeing all the announcements clustered together over a few days. 6
Sadie Saxton Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 Ehhh for me the hype started declining after that first year PlayStation went rogue from it Sort of bittersweet though, I remember being excited for it. I could see each company doing their own thing now or basically utilizing The Game Awards for big announcements - which they already basically do - but it’ll help create more hype for the award show at least.
Bad Decisions Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 It's been trash for a few years now but it's still sad. It was so exciting coming home from school back in the day and seeing all the news in video games. 1
JBJT2786 Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 Summer Gamesfest, the Game Awards and the Big 3 doing seasonal events is enough now. E3 was dying already before the panni, it just accelerated the death quicker.
TaggedGalaxy Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 Not surprised, but companies have moved away from E3 to hosting their own reveals
The Man Who Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 Let me rewatch this and remember the good days! 2
Gossip_Boy Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 End of an era. Attending E3 has been on my bucket since I was a kid. That said, I think most people saw this coming when all of the big publishers started hosting their own keynote events and they went from industry-only to public too late to come back from it. On top of that, covid happened, which ****** everything up even more.
poki Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 To think Playstation left E3 only to do shitty state of plays for some indie games I don't even remember and that one loop death game or whatever it was called
BlackoutZone Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 It's been sadly dead for a few years now. A shame, cause the new format is so boring, no studio has enough good material to prepare a whole entertaining event. It's always just one or two semi exciting things and tons of filler. 2
