I give u that Vogue live was incredible and not in Beys wheel house, but then Madonna would also not be able to deliver some of the dances Bey has done in the past. I also dont see what so special about the Reinvention Tour. Edited December 17, 2023 by Kristie Kuwa
Pendulum Posted December 17, 2023 Posted December 17, 2023 I'm not a Beyoncé stan but even I would say she's one of the best performers of our current generation if not of all time. Nonsensical question.
Kristie Kuwa Posted December 17, 2023 Posted December 17, 2023 (edited) Also something to think about: Do you think u cannot be or do better than your parents just because they came before you? Sure, in some cases your parents mightve reached higher highs, but there are obviously instances where the kids turned out more successful, more talented, etc. And that is FINE. Just like that, its the same with popstars. There certainly wouldnt be a Beyonce without Madonna, Mariah, Prince, Tina Turner, Janet, Diana Ross, and she's continuously made sure to praise them and give credit at any opportunity given. But what they started, she took.and she RAN with it. Just look at the Lemonade era alone: The level of showmanship, talent, perfection and consistency ranging from Formation (at the Superbowl) VMA Medley Freedom (at the BBMAs) Daddy Lesson (at the CMAs) Love Drought/Sandcastles while being heavily pregnant with twins (at the Grammys) All Night (at the Tidal event) And thats just one era. Now add the Billboard performance of Run The World or Single Ladies at the VMAs or Beychella to the equation and you see the picture. Beyonce, in the realm of performance ability, is on par with MJ and it could be argued she even surpassed him (though peak MJ was otherworldly, no question about it) Edited December 17, 2023 by Kristie Kuwa 1

The only difference, imo, is that she doesn't quite have that same charisma that Beyoncé has, there's some factor that doesn't give the same stadium-filling exuberance that she can with just one stare. Obviously Nicole has charisma though, it just doesn't quite translate the same way. I get what you mean and I somewhat agree. Beyonce has a certain OOMPH on stage, the way she commands it. Very few performers have that. Beyonce has more edge and is perfect for big stadium tours. While Nicole has a bit more elegance and sophistication to her presence. That's not to say that Beyonce is not elegant or sophisticated, but Nicole lacks the edge that Beyonce excludes. This is why Nicole is better fitted in musical theater. As I said, her presence is more 'elegant and sophisticated', more intimate and personal, which works much better on a theater stage than a tour stage. On 12/12/2023 at 5:00 AM, Chris said: Really? I mean, yes? Vocally, a lot of people would agree that Nicole is potentially the better and more versatile vocalist. Both are undoubtedly two of the greatest voices we have. Nicole is the better dancer overall, she's got excellent technique and is very versatile, she can do hip hop, ballroom and contemporary, due to her Musical Theater background and her studies, but Beyonce has better rhythm, timing and edge as a performer. So, yeah. Objectively, Nicole is the closest to matching Beyonce as a performer, in terms of live singing, dancing and overall performing and entertaining
Badgalbriel Posted December 17, 2023 Posted December 17, 2023 Of course she is. How did this get to 7 pages?
Kimi Posted December 17, 2023 Posted December 17, 2023 In her type of performing she might be the best.

Triton Posted December 17, 2023 Posted December 17, 2023 She know every aspect of performing, the choreo, the cameras, the stage technology, the lighting, the singing, the keys, the costumes, crowd interaction, This woman knows how to work a stage like no other. After her Super Bowl she definitely upped her performance skills, her best lesson. After that she took it and went as far as she could and combined it all. 1

kishi Posted December 18, 2023 Posted December 18, 2023 One of the best of her generation and probably top three in that group. As talented as she is, there are performers from other generations that still tower over her. Janet Prince Michael Jackson Tina Turner James Brown Aretha Franklin Patti LaBelle Stevie Wonder Luther Vandross Whitney Houston This also doesn't include non-North American acts.

Definitely up there too. But I wouldn't really classify her as a dancer though, in the traditional sense. She's a phenomenal performer, vocalist and gymnast and she definitely puts on a show like no other, with her acrobatics etc. I would say Pink joins Beyonce and Nicole as the Top 3 Overall performers of that generation. 4 hours ago, Welovetrouble said: I mean Shakira is also there too Shakira is a great performer but no where near the likes of Beyonce, Pink or Nicole. She lacks in live vocals and is mostly a belly dancer, one of the greats at that style, but I don't think she has the versatility to give more. The dancing is always the same. And that's ok, she's amazing at what she does, she doesn't need to be able to do everything. Just like Pink, who is a phenomenal acrobat and gymnast, she doesn't need to serve Hip Hop choreo.

The7thStranger Posted December 22, 2023 Posted December 22, 2023 I think she’s in the upper echelon, but not in the Top 3. I can’t place her ahead of Bruce, Tina, Madonna, or Freddie.
