Kelly Clarkson - chemistry (Deluxe) (September 22, 2023) I've been waiting for New Kelly's album for a long time, and it's finally here. Even though I've expected a lot since her cover of Billie's HTE is just that goddamn good, this album really showcases how good of a vocalist Kelly is, and I'm not mad at it. Recommended tracks: skip this part, mine, red flag collector & favorite kind of high Spotify 92. Tori Kelly - tori (July 28, 2023) Tori is back making more mainstream-type music with this new EP. This is a collection of six new songs that were stunning and engaging to listen to from start to finish. It's kind of obvious that she's going for more Y2K-R&B from the lead single. Recommended tracks: shelter, cut & missin u Spotify 91. Reneé Rapp - Snow Angel (Deluxe) (November 17, 2023) This is not bad for a debut studio album, to be honest. Reneé has a great range of vocals, and she isn't afraid to experiment with them. There's a lot to improve from here, but I still see a great future for her. Recommended tracks: Snow Angel, Talk Too Much, I Hate Boston & Pretty Girls Spotify aw what these should be higher, I thouroughly enjoyed them all, snow angel grew on me exponentially. Great recs for Chemistry and Tori 1
ATRL Moderator Legend E Posted December 27, 2023 ATRL Moderator Posted December 27, 2023 Contact I wish people would see Chemistry more than just a vocal showcase album. Kelly definitely tried experiment with new sounds (Skip This Part, Mine, Chemistry, That's Right, Magic) or song structures (Goodbye). The lyrical content is also top notch, especially on Chemistry, Magic, Lighthouse, Goodbye and Skip This Part. Don't know what FKOH is doing among your fave songs x 1

And also, thank you all for coming 90. Ice Spice - Like..? - (Deluxe) (July 21, 2023) I unironically really like this EP. It's such a fun listening experience. You can call it Bible: The Sequel, to be honest. Recommended tracks: Deli, Princess Diana (with Nicki Minaj) & How High? Spotify 89. LE SSERAFIM - UNFORGIVEN (May 1, 2023) Even though this is not the "real" full-length studio album, I'm still enjoying the new songs from this release. But i have to admit that this is definitely their worst release to date. Thank lord that Eve, Psyche & The Bluebeard's wife saved the era! Recommended tracks: Eve, Psyche & The Bluebeard's wife, Burn the Bridge & UNFORGIVEN Spotify 88. NMIXX - expérgo (March 20, 2023) NMIXX is one of those K-Pop groups that has been very hit or miss at times, but when they finally find their groove, they can be one of the best things ever. I need JYP to stick to copying Red Velvet for a while because LDN NOISE did a good job this year for them. Recommended tracks: Love Me Like This, PAXXWORD & My Gosh Spotify 87. Arlo Parks - My Soft Machine (May 26, 2023) Even though this second album felt like a downgrade compared to her debut, I am still enjoying this album for what it is. Also, there are no bad tracks here, but I kind of wish she showed more variety that would’ve made it a lot better. Recommended tracks: Blades, Weightless & Devotion Spotify 86. IVE - I'VE MINE (October 13, 2023) I'm sorry, but there's something about this mini album that I enjoy more than their debut full-length album. even though it lacks the "big pop" moments that the group is known for, but to me, it is still consistent. Recommended tracks: Off The Record, Holy Moly & Either Way Spotify 85. Chris Stapleton - Higher (November 10, 2023) Chris Stapleton is back, saving county artists this year. Honestly, this album gets better with each listen. So if you feel like you are about to give up listening to it, try another spin, or maybe don't lmao Recommended tracks: White Horse, Think I'm In Love With You & Higher Spotify 84. NCT DOJAEJUNG - Perfume - The 1st Mini Album (April 17, 2023) If you know me, you know I hate some NCT-related releases, but this one might be different. Can't believe Doyoung, Jaehyun, and Jungwoo were doing the "I'm the only ***** serving ***** here 😭😭😭 omg 😭 I'm soooo embarrassed 😭😭" twitter meme in real time lmao Recommended tracks: Perfume, Kiss & Dive Spotify 83. Zach Bryan - Zach Bryan (August 25, 2023) This is some good-ass country music. I'm sorry that I kind of doubt Zach Bryan just because I saw his new album do well on the charts. I thought that he was some other racist Morgan Wallen-type country bros, but I was DEAD WRONG. Recommended tracks: Jake’s Piano - Long Island, I Remember Everything, Overtime & East Side of Sorrow Spotify 82. Marina Sena - Vício Inerente (April 27, 2023) On this sophomore album, Marina launched herself with excellent production and great compositional skills that make her one of the most intriguing names in pop today. Recommended tracks: Pra Ficar Comigo, Partiu Capoeira, Dano Sarrada & Que Tal Spotify 81. Miley Cyrus - Endless Summer Vacation (August 18, 2023) I've seen people who were so disappointed with this album, but honestly, I enjoy it more than I should. Miley is definitely not topping Plastic Heart or even Bangerz with this album, but songs like River and Violet Chemistry have a place in my cold little heart. Recommended tracks: River, Jaded & Violet Chemistry Spotify
Mr. Blue_Shirt Posted January 10 Author Posted January 10 80. Tkay Maidza - Sweet Justice (November 3, 2023) After the success of her “Last Year Was Weird” trilogy, the momentum was on Tkay’s side, and she proved it with this sophomore album. Overall, it’s an impressive, consistent, and wildly entertaining album to listen to, and I can't wait to hear what she's going to offer next. Recommended tracks: Silent Assassin, Out of Luck & Love and Other Drugs Spotify 79. EXO - Exist - The 7th Album (July 10, 2023) EXO is back as a complete group after four years with this short, sweet, and pretty spotless body of work. It might be their worst album yet, but if you're a group that is constantly raising the bar for male K-Pop artists when it comes to quality, it is still a compliment for sure. Recommended tracks: Let Me In, Cream Soda & Hear Me Out Spotify 78. Kep1er - LOVESTRUCK! (April 10, 2023)Kep1er is finally releasing at least one album that is actually listenable for once. 2024 might be the end of them as a group, but at least they left a legacy with LOVESTRUCK! and they should be proud. Recommended tracks: Back to the City, Happy Ending & Why Spotify 77. Royal Blood - Back To The Water Below (September 1, 2023) Their music might be formulaic, and people hate them because of their Radio 1 Festival performance, but I still enjoy it for what it is lol. Back to the Water Below is actually pretty fun. Even though this is not the best of their albums, their essence is still here. Recommended tracks: Tell Me When It’s Too Late, Triggers & Waves Spotify 76. Madison Beer - Silence Between Songs (September 15, 2023) Even though this album is not the best thing she's ever done, 'Silence Between Songs' is still delivered with great excellence in creating a sound atmosphere inspired by the airy 1960s, as well as reinforcing how Madison Beer is an artist who has a lot of potential, although there is room for improvement. Recommended tracks: Home To Another One, Spinnin & Sweet Relief Spotify 75. KAYTRAMINÉ - KAYTRAMINÉ (May 19, 2023) The way this album kind of shapes my summer 2023. Recommended tracks: 4EVA, K&A & letstalkaboutit Spotify 74. The National - First Two Pages of Frankenstein (April 28, 2023) My expectations weren't high for this, but I was hoping for at least a few great songs, and they kind of delivered it. Recommended tracks: Tropic Morning News, The Alcott & Once Upon a Poolside Spotify 73. The Drums - Jonny (October 13, 2023) That album cover aside, it's been 4 years since their last album, and I thought this new album was quite enjoyable. It still has that quintessential The Drums sound that I like and 'The Flowers' is probably my favorite Drums song. Recommended tracks: The Flowers, Obvious, Plastic Envelope & Better Spotify 72. Depeche Mode - Memento Mori (March 24, 2023) Depeche Mode is back with their 15th album, and honestly, this was pretty good. The album explores themes of morality as well as death and successfully proves that Depeche Mode has more longevity as a group than most artists. Recommended tracks: Ghosts Again, Speak To Me & Before We Drown Spotify 71. SG Lewis - AudioLust & HigherLove (January 27, 2023) I'm happy to report that I'm not disappointed with this album, like a lot of people are. The only problem is its duration, because listening to it all at once can be quite tiring. However, there are several fantastic and well-produced songs that prove just how versatile he can be. Recommended tracks: Call On Me, Fever Dreamer & Lifetime Spotify
Mr. Blue_Shirt Posted January 10 Author Posted January 10 70. ITZY - KILL MY DOUBT (July 31, 2023) I always have a sweet spot for ITZY; I mean, I truly love SNEAKERS when all people lothe the sh*t out of that song. This EP is actually good and a slight improvement from 'CHECKMATE'. But it's kind of obvious that JYP wants them to have another SNEAKERS 2.0 with Cake. It's kind of work for me, but sometimes the OG is better than the sequel. Recommended tracks: Kill Shot, None of My Business & CAKE Spotify 69. Kylie Minogue - Tension (Deluxe) (September 22, 2023) A straightforward pop album by the one and only Kylie™ That kind feels very formulaic this time around, compared to her 2020's album DISCO, but it still makes me happy that Tension lived up to my expectations with back-to-back bops that will simply make anyone dance the night away. Recommended tracks: Tension, Hold On To Now, Vegas High & Padam Padam Spotify 68. Loossemble - Loossemble (September 15, 2023) LOONA members have been busy in 2023. After ODD EYE CIRCLE's comeback, it's now time for another part of LOONA to debut again under the name Loossemble. I was a bit skeptical at first because the group consists of members who are not really well known to have the best musical chops, but the EP is filled with incredible, creative choices and ideas that are meshed really well at the end. Recommended tracks: Newtopia, Strawberry soda, Colouring & Sensitive Spotify 67. KAI - Rover - The 3rd Mini Album (March 13, 2023) This EP might be his weakest one, but the title track is simply the best song he's ever recorded. Despite it being a remake of an already existing song, ‘Mr. Rover’, everything feels natural, like it was written with Kai specifically in mind. Just like aespa with 'Next Level'. Recommended tracks: Rover, Sinner & Say You Love Me Spotify 66. fromis_9 - Unlock My World (June 5, 2023) In their first studio album, fromis_9 took a huge step in the right direction. This album is an incredibly diverse album in terms of production, but it still sounds cohesive, making it worth giving this album a listen. Recommended tracks: Attitude, Prom Night, #menow & What I Want Spotify 65. Sugababes - The Lost Tapes (Deluxe Edition) (December 31, 2022) This is honestly Sugababes album in a really long time. I truly wonder if this was released back in 2013 or 2014; it would've been their best comeback. Recommended tracks: Back in the Day, Boys & Today Spotify 64. Christine and the Queens - PARANOÏA, ANGELS, TRUE LOVE (June 9, 2023) What's with these artists naming their best song in their discography just 'track 10'?! The album overall is a major switch-up for his sound, and I was not expecting that at all. I hope he continues in this overly artsy direction, because he clearly has the vision. Recommended tracks: Tears can be so soft, Track 10, To be honest, Marvin descending & Big eye Spotify 63. Emilia - .mp3 (November 3, 2023) You guys don't know how much I'm obsessed with this album. I might say this is one of the best Latin albums of this year. It's definitely not her exhaustive work, but this LP is so contagious and makes me want to hear more from her. The new MPG is here! Recommended tracks: No_Se_Ve.mp3, La_Original.mp3 & IConic.mp3 Spotify 62. 100 gecs - 10,000 gecs (March 17, 2023) I had really low expectations before I listened to this album, but damn, this isn't as noisy as I thought it would be, and for the first time ever in my entire life, I wasn't annoyed by every song from this album. Recommended tracks: Hollywood Baby, Dumbest Girl Alive & mememe Spotify 61. Killer Mike - MICHAEL (Deluxe) (September 15, 2023) The sixth album from one half of Run the Jewels is a really solid run of tracks, and I really appreciate how personal this album gets. Recommended tracks: DON'T LET THE DEVIL, SCIENTISTS & ENGINEERS, MOTHERLESS & DOWN BY LAW Spotify
Mr. Blue_Shirt Posted January 10 Author Posted January 10 60. Slowdive - everything is alive (September 1, 2023) Well, this is my introduction to Slowdive's music. I've known their existence for a while now, but I haven't had the chance to give them a proper listen, and this album gave me such a strong positive first impression. I might not be their biggest fan after this, but man, it makes me want to go deep into their discography. Recommended tracks: shanty, the slab, kisses & alife Spotify 59. Tinashe - BB_ANG3L (September 8, 2023) The only crime she committed for this album is that it is only 21 minutes. Like girl, you're not BLACKPINK! Drop Part 2 of the album right now! Recommended tracks: Talk To Me Nice, Treason, Gravity & Tightrope Spotify 58. The Rolling Stones - Hackney Diamonds (October 20, 2023) It's nice to see a bunch of grandpas still putting out a great body of work this late in their careers. The songs themselves aren’t incredible, but the energy and passion definitely are and this was a really fun experience as a casual listener. Recommended tracks: Sweet Sounds Of Heaven, Bite My Head Off & Whole Wide World Spotify 57. Eartheater - Powders (September 20, 2023) This is my introduction to Eartheater and I must say that Powders is a great album. But not gonna lie, that Chop Suey cover kinda threw me off and destroyed the entire flow of the album for me lmao Recommended tracks: Crushing, Sugarcane Switch, Pure Smile Snake Venom & Face in the Moon Spotify 56. ODD EYE CIRCLE - ODD EYE CIRCLE <Version Up> (July 12, 2023) THEY ARE BACK AND THEY'RE SHOWED THESE GIRLS HOW IT'S DONE! This album feels a bit more dancey but I wish that the songs were longer but those are just signs that this is still a solid project and another win OEC. F*CK BLOCKBERRY CREATIVE. Recommended tracks: Air Force One, Je Ne Sais Quoi & My Secret Playlist Spotify 55. boygenius - the record (March 31, 2023) While the album itself is not perfect, it is still an incredible album that I totally get the hype for. They're the Migos of lesbians if you think about it. Recommended tracks: Not Strong Enough, $20, True Blue & Emily I'm Sorry Spotify 54. Various Artists - Barbie The Album (Best Weekend Ever Edition) (July 21, 2023) The way nobody can replicate the Barbie summer of 2023 for me in the upcoming decades, like you guys don't know how much I played this album throughout the summer, is not even healthy at this point. I'M OBSESSED! Recommended tracks: What Was I Made For? (Billie Eilish), Speed Drive (Charli XCX), Dance The Night (Dua Lipa) & I’m Just Ken (Ryan Gosling) Spotify 53. Ava Max - Diamonds & Dancefloors (January 27, 2023) This is such a HUGE improvement from her debut album. This album isn’t anything special, but it’s not necessarily trying to be and I respect that, honestly. Recommended tracks: Million Dollar Baby, Dancing’s Done, Sleepwalker & Maybe You’re The Problem Spotify 52. Slayyyter - STARFUCKER (September 22, 2023) This album is ******* STACKED with bangers from front to back. And I also love how raunchy and risqué it is, which really gives the album and Slayyyter as an artist their own identity. And yes, Purrr invented gay men. Recommended tracks: Miss Belladonna, Out Of Time, Purrr & Erotic Electronic Spotify 51. Ellie Goulding - Higher Than Heaven (Deluxe) (April 7, 2023) Ellie Goulding’s newest album will go down as one of the best mainstream pop albums of the year, even with a really messy rollout. She finally makes an album that appeases her record label without trying to make herself look like a sellout. Recommended tracks: Midnight Dreams, Temptation, Easy Lover & All By Myself Spotify
Mr. Blue_Shirt Posted January 10 Author Posted January 10 50. Queens of the Stone Age - In Times New Roman... (June 16, 2023)a This whole album reminds me of a mix between Lullabies to Paralyze and Like Clockwork, both of which are some of my favorite albums from them. This album holds nothing back, with the overall impact of it being unbelievably high the entire time. They did such a good job making this their comeback album. Recommended tracks: Emotion Sickness, Paper Machete, Straight Jacket Fitting & Carnavoyeur Spotify 49. HeeJin - <K> (October 31, 2023). To be honest, I don't really know what a new Heejin solo would sound like. Her last solo was back in 2016, and the sound was more like jazz pop. but it turns out this debut EP is a very solid debut. Recommended tracks: 개화, Algorithm & Video Games Spotify 48. Magdalena Bay - mini mix vol. 3 (April 13, 2023). This project might be a mixtape, but the quality is still impactable. I really don’t think they can make bad music at this point. Recommended tracks: Top Dog, Wandering Eyes, EXO & Tonguetwister Spotify 47. Red Velvet - Chill Kill - The 3rd Album (November 13, 2023). It took us six years of waiting, but Red Velvet's third album is finally here. The whole album is great, and the songs at the beginning are incredible. Underwater is a true masterpiece. Recommended tracks: Underwater, Will I Ever See You Again?, Chill Kill & Knock Knock (Who's There?) Spotify 46. Travis Scott - UTOPIA (July 28, 2023). The experimental production here is almost flawlessly pulled off and creates incredibly interesting moments that keep you on your toes. I still don't really like Travis as a person, but goddamn, he made it really easy to forget about all of that with this album. Recommended tracks: HYAENA, MY EYES, TELEKINESIS & TIL FURTHER NOTICE Spotify 45. Janelle Monáe - The Age of Pleasure (June 9, 2023). So many amazing summer albums this year, and this is one of many of them. Is this as ambitious or as fantastic as her previous albums? No, but it’s not trying to be! It’s a fun, summery album, and for what it is, I thought it was pretty great. Recommended tracks: Float, Only Have Eyes 42, Water Slide & Phenomenal Spotify 44. PJ Harvey - I Inside the Old Year Dying (July 7, 2023). This album is a phenomenal work and it's very different from any of her past albums, so it's definitely one of the most daring and unique projects in her discography. The queen is back, bow down! Recommended tracks: I Inside the Old I Dying, A Noiseless Noise, Prayer at the Gate & I Inside the Old Year Dying Spotify 43. Yves Tumor - Praise A Lord Who Chews But Which Does Not Consume; (Or Simply, Hot Between Worlds) (March 17, 2023). This album blew me away from the first listen because I love me some fat ass basslines, so I really appreciate that almost every song has one. Recommended tracks: Heaven Surrounds Us Like a Hood, Ebony Eye, God Is a Circle & Lovely Sewer Spotify 42. Hannah Diamond - Perfect Picture (October 6, 2023). I'm pleasantly surprised that I didn't expect this album to be half as good as it is. 'Perfect Picture' is, without a doubt, the best work she has produced to date. Recommended tracks: Poster Girl, Affirmations, Perfect Picture & No FX Spotify 41. Yo La Tengo - This Stupid World (February 10, 2023). This is perhaps the most consistent Yo La Tengo release in both quality and tone. They are nearly 40 years into their career, and they are still pulling off whatever they have been doing since the 1980s.
