Bublé's 'Christmas' outsells it every holiday season, and while there's still quite a gap between both, Bublé is closing it every year so by the time both could be contenders for the biggest US album ever, his album will have most likely outsold hers.

I never understood how/why this happens? Shouldn't the album units from AIWFCIY's sales alone put it way ahead?

AIWFCIY might be the bigger song but Michael is charting several songs from his album every year, that's why he's constantly ahead of her in the albums chart.
