vale9001 Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 Just saw the biggest music contest in Europe (in the world?) after the Eurovision has not a thread. So here for my fellow italians atrlers (and not only) to talk about this big musical and cultural event. The 5 night competition is dated for 6-10 Feb 2024. The cast of the 74th edition was announced yesterday on live television (the announcemt alone was watched by 6M people ) and this is the cast of 27 + (3 "new" artists are going to be selected on the 19th december with another tv show called Sanremo Giovani): 1) Alessandra Amoroso 2) Alfa 3) Diodato 4) Angelina Mango 5) Annalisa 6) Big Mama 7) Dargen D'amico 8) Emma Marrone 9) Fiorella Mannoia 10) Francesco Renga feat Nek 11) Fred De Palma 12) Gazzelle 13) Geolier 14) Il tre 15) Il volo 16) Irama 17) Mahmood 18) La Sas 19) Loredana Bertè 20) Ghali 21) Manninni 22) Mr. Rain 23) Negramaro 24) Ricchi e Poveri 25) Rose Villain 26) Sangiovanni 27) The Kolors What do you think about the cast? Who do you think is gonna win? Il volo, Diodato, Mahmood , Emma Marrone and Ricchi e poveri already have been on Eurovision.
vale9001 Posted December 4, 2023 Author Posted December 4, 2023 (edited) To clarify these are not the songs in the competition. The songs in the competition are a secret until the first performance on the stage Edited December 4, 2023 by vale9001
Mordecai Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 The lineup this year is absolutely stacked, I couldn't even begin to pick who I would want to win
Anthinos Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 (edited) I'm rooting for Annalisa, Mr. Rain and Il Volo Supereroi was my favorite song last year. I hope his song for 2024 is also good. I want someone to represent Italy who hasn't been to Eurovision yet. Edited December 4, 2023 by Anthinos
The7thStranger Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 Queen Annalisa. But also the Kolors. 1
Totami Legend Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 I predict the following Top 3: Alessandra / Mahmood / Il Volo AA deserves to snatch a win 1

If it's just a prediction I don't know, I think people overestimate Mahmood too much. His second win was already because Blanco helped a lot or i don't think Brividi would have won as solo Mahmood song. Honestly i see him in the in top 7- top 15 range this year at least he doesn't have a really really great song, but top 3 only because of his name....i don't see it.

Yeah I agree, Alessandra on the other hand is definitely coming back with a powerful ballad in the vein of Mengoni. I can see her doing great.
justlore Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 Mahmood Top 3? He would be lucky with a Top 10 spot. Negramaro has the victory in the bag.
Starkboy Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 I kinda want Negramaro to win but they peaked years ago musically. Mahmood is not touching the top5 this time. Annalisa is gonna do great but Angelina could surprise.

I liked the last album, but I can't see them doing Eurovision. Nek and Renga going for it... look, I am a die-hard, panty-throwing Nek stan trapped in the 2000s, but that last album with Renga was a difficult listen. The first single was great, but the rest just doesn't hold up. Maybe it'll grow on me?
ReachOut Posted February 7 Posted February 7 My top5 1. Emma - APNEA 2. Annalisa - Sinceramente 3. Angelina Mango - La Noia 4. Mahmood - Tuta Gold 5. Loredana Berté - Pazza HM: Ricchi & Poveri, they slayed the stage, icons.
