VeniceBeach Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 Voted on by over 30 Guardian music writers, we celebrate the year’s best tracks from Boygenius to Blur and beyond 1. Lana Del Rey – A&W Quote The seven-minute song, an incredible slither of detuned guitar, brooding piano and staticky detritus, feels like that body stretching and spreading out luxuriously, defying tidy convention. For as much as Del Rey has been contorted into this impossible space – by men, by critics, by society – her essential self remains intact in her sublimely freaky, wayward music. Halfway through A&W, the song all but dubs out then transitions into bratty skipping-rope trap as she taunts a druggy lover. It sounds like something from her maligned Born to Die days, it makes no sense and it’s oddly brilliant. Why ever Del Rey is like she is, there’s certainly no one else like her. Dark Phoenix Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 She’s getting her flowers (and Grammy) finally!!
Gorjesspazze9 Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 Amazing song, and good comeback for her. The top 5 is a joke tho #2 is boys a liar? Super Shy
Rev8 Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 Super surprised at the list There are songs that are out of the top 10, which old P4K would usually put in the top10 and some top10 songs that P4K wouldn't even consider putting in a Top20 list overall
KatyPrismSpirit Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 amazing song. i remember hearing it for the first time in february… just a brilliant experience
AM98GJ Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 incredible masterpiece, my most placed song of 2023
RideOrDie Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 this list is serving homosekshual but they made several points 1
Frozen99 Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 the list is a MESS but excellent pick for #1 Quote “I’m tired now,” Del Rey admits. “So keeping it simple is probably the way that it’s going to go. but she already put just a piano on, will she sing acapella now?

Taylor fanboy Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 Should be Kintsugi but Tunnel keeps winning!
She-Rah Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 I love all the acclaim Lana is getting leading up to the Grammys. I hope she is recognized this year with a major award.
