Vrx. Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 He is an awful president and all of congress needs to be expelled since none of them actually care about their constituents
KMO Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 The man has early stages of dementia and is physically unwell
SmittenCake Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 This sounds like something out of Trumps book of things to say
Bears01 Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 Well yeah, ask your average American if they’re happy with the economy/inflation and almost everyone would say “no”. There’s multiple factors on how we got here outside of his control, but regardless, most people don’t care about the “how and why” they just want it to not be an issue in the first place
DAP Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 (edited) A lazy pun was too “philosophical”. Whatever that means. Edited December 4, 2023 by DAP 1
Chartman Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 I guess quiet a few people will be happy when Joe Biden leaves the office in January 2029. 1

Part of the reason people are uneasy with the thought of voting for him again is because of the fact that he might not even live that long, leaving us with the most woefully unprepared replacement president we'd ever be stuck with (Kamala Harris).
GhostBox Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 Considering the economy by every prediction is doing pretty well of course Biden would like to take the credit for it. But because of greed from billionaires raising the prices on essentials people don’t care about the economy doing well. Inflation is still what people care about. So of course that’s going to reflect negatively on Biden. it was a good try of taking back the narrative on inflation but it’s hard to do it when inflation (even though is decreasing) is still too high.

The problem isn't that inflation hasn't come down enough. The median voters don't just want prices to stop going up. They want prices to go back down and return to what they were in 2019, and they think bringing back Donald Trump as president might be away to "make the economy right for them again." Of course, prices don't go down except during cases of deflation, which only happens during periods of great economic turmoil, and Biden can't, and shouldn't, really do anything to bring prices down that way. Touting the economy as good and bragging about the state of things being better than they could be doesn't change what the median voter wants, which is a statistical impossibility - prices decreasing with a healthy economy that doesn't involve them being at greater risk of unemployment. It comes off as tone deaf, especially since there ARE people struggling to make ends meet working 2 or 3 jobs to put food on the table, and Biden acolytes like Will Stancil are telling them that it's not actually a thing and that they're lying.

Tone deaf or not, there is for decades a double standard in the party affiliation polling reaction to this. But that’s a byproduct of the demographic breakdowns.
spree Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 they can't get rid of that term now no matter what. Once it's on the internet, it's a done deal. You think people are going to stop referring to Biden's economy as "Bidenomics" because the DNC told them to? prices aren't going to go down, and Trump certainly isn't going to bring them down either. We're all screwed.
