Firstly this topic is dumb, the numbers are good and the release WW was very limited.

But most of all, engaging with Swifties is the most irritating and boring thing ever on ATRL

At least there's some good laughs with the other bases :sistrens:

So you're afraid of the Swifties but have no problem dragging black women ... gotcha :ryan3:

Justin Bieber, Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus also did better overseas.

a teen idol at his peak, a (used to be) huge pop star at her peak and a kids movie doing better worldwide than a docu-concert film about gay ballroom, i’m shocked

Aww...don't be sad. If Bey wanted a guaranteed smash, she would have put more effort into promotion and opted for a wider release. Alas, she didn’t and is happy with the turnout. It’s sweet that you care. :heart2:

Official numbers

It becomes the fourth biggest opening domestically, right below Justin Bieber's "Never Say Never"

I was wrong, it wasn't playing weekdays.  From Deadline:

AMC’s second weekend of Renaissance: A Film by Beyonce at 2,539 theaters is looking at a second Friday of $1.6M, -86%, and 3-day of$5.2M, -76%, running total of $28.2M. Maybe this movie should have played weekdays? That’s quite the steep drop next to Taylor Swift: Eras Tour which fell -64% in weekend 2. Renaissance‘s second frame percent wise is also worse than Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert (-67%), Justin Bieber: Never Say Never (-55%), and Michael Jackson’s This Is It (-43%).

even my swiftie friends were talking about how there's a lack of excellence and discipline in the world because everyone's watching Taylor's - and i quote - mediocre concert film and not Beyoncé's masterpiece. words from several, actual diehard swifties.

Meanwhile words from several critics...

Aren't there people outside of the US who are interested in Renaissance? Why does only US care? :celestial5:

I thought she was global but looks like her skipping outside of the US and Europe makes sense afterall.

How many countries is it open at?

I heard it is available in smaller number than TheEars movies, and when it is available, it is only in certain cinemas and not nationwide?

She isn't. Her tour was huge because of touring inflation but she will be passed next year.

Well I love her but this is what she gets for paying dust to Asia :sorry:
