glitch Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 I wasn't expecting her to say the f slur Really great speech, you can tell this is really personal for her. Glad that she brought up the factor 8 scandal too, which not a lot of younger people seem to know about. 1 2
thequeenofpopmadonna Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 the queen always does it better! the one and only original queen!!! she was ahead of the rest when it was not popular to stand for it at all, and will always be the biggest ally and advocate for the lgbtq community. the trailblazer!!! 4 1 1 3
spiritboy Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 So emotional. She has always been in the right side of history when it comes to LGBT rights and activism, i'm so proud of to be a Madonna fan. 2
thequeenofpopmadonna Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 (edited) all those fake allies and pretenders were completely quiet and mouth zipped for the doomed and devasting days from the 80s to 00's when it was jeopardy and not cool or unpopular to support marginalized lgbtq people who kept dying every day. and the fcked up conservatives and stupid christians just waited like that they never exited and condemned them to just die and be vanished away because they treated them already like trashy sht with no value. they didnt give any sht to nor say a thing for them on behalf of any humanity when they were committing cruel and inhuman crimes for the sake of humanity and basic human rights. They weren't even showing their stances on the matter of equality of the same sex marriage again because they were just worried to sell records or digital sht. but when it becomes a trend and popular to do it, they all come outside hypocrites and act like they are the biggest gay icons out there and pretend to support gays. So phony and disgusting as hell. lmao. im like move over fake shtty allies. just do it like madonna when it was risky and unpopular for the career and public images, when they really needed an advocate and the ultimate care for basic human rights the most. then ill consider a gay icon or whatever, phony biatches. Lead Cenobite Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 Thank you Queen! Also why is Trojan allowed to troll and downvote people here? OMH much? 2 1 1
LatinFreak Posted December 2, 2023 Posted December 2, 2023 Queen of pop, Queen of the Gays. Queen of love. Our biggest and best ally forever. 2 2
Soda Pop Queen Posted December 3, 2023 Posted December 3, 2023 I'm glad she made this speech to remind people of World Aids Day and to shine a light on those that have died in the early days because a lot of folks, both straight and queer, have been moving reckless out here like HIV/AIDS doesn't exist anymore and it's far from the truth. We've come a long way with new drugs on the market but it's still quite damaging to the body at best and will kill you in some way at worst. Whoever you choose to jump in the sack with, protect yourselves and stay on top of your (sexual) health. 2 1
LikeaRebel Posted December 3, 2023 Posted December 3, 2023 Queen. She’s been with us through thick and thin. 1
GlamSlam Posted December 3, 2023 Posted December 3, 2023 She's 100% correct. Being gay in the 80's was horrific. People looked at you like you had leprocy or something, and the way we were bullied and attacked was awful. You couldn't be open and proud like you can today. Madonna has been with us since the beginning and will be there for us till the very end. A true ally. 3
C_Colstead Posted December 3, 2023 Posted December 3, 2023 M has been an ally to the gay community for literally her entire life, and was out there advocating for their rights decades before it became the norm - like when she donated money to and raised money for HIV/AIDS research at the very height of the disease back in the '80s when literally nobody else (with the exception of Elizabeth Taylor) cared, the Truth or Dare documentary etc. She has near-constantly supported them through her words, music and performances, and will never stop fighting for their rights. It's saddening that this will only be truly recognized when she dies. She deserves so much more respect than she's given for her LGBTQ+ advocacy. 5
Tovitov Posted December 3, 2023 Posted December 3, 2023 Miss Madge being the absolute Legend and Gay Icon she is and always will be 2
Chris Posted December 4, 2023 Posted December 4, 2023 This thread is quiet. But if there was something else that was negative this page would be on page 7 already from the usual. 4 2 1
40000000000000 Posted December 25, 2023 Posted December 25, 2023 a mfing LEGEND who is informed she should have fallen while giving this speech for people to give a **** though. 2
Gottasadae Posted December 25, 2023 Posted December 25, 2023 (edited) This topic is not so interesting for atrl misogynists, you should call it something like that: "Madonna fell and split her crack during gut-wrenching speech for World Aids Day in Amsterdam" Edited December 25, 2023 by Gottasadae 2
Pop Life Posted December 25, 2023 Posted December 25, 2023 (edited) I might have cried just a little bit. The catastrophe of AIDS lasted much longer than just the 80s. The petty, youth-obsessed attitude in gay spaces today is a direct consequence of an entire generation being stolen from us before they could age into elder role models for the community now. Even so, we've come such a long way and you can tell most don't recognize just how lucky they are. Madonna is one of the only pop stars who gets it. And I mean really gets it. We aren't just a marketing demographic to her. Even in our darkest hour she was openly and fiercely on our side, no matter the risk to her own reputation. That alone earns my permanent respect Edited December 25, 2023 by Pop Life 1 2
Oktober Knight Posted December 26, 2023 Posted December 26, 2023 17k views of her falling and OMHs circle jerking to bash a 65 year old woman on a successful tour, but this thread has crickets. See a pattern here? 4
nostalgic Posted December 26, 2023 Posted December 26, 2023 This was beautiful the quintessential ally, indeed.
tiagol88 Posted December 26, 2023 Posted December 26, 2023 The fact this topic is still on page one and the other one is atrls biggest topic of the week where she barely falls says a lot about this place lmao 1 2
spiritboy Posted December 26, 2023 Posted December 26, 2023 Madonna doesn't get the respect she deserves from young LGBT community so i stopped caring about them and feeling sorry for whatever homophobia and obstacles they face. 1 1
