Years & Years - "A Very Bad Fun Idea"

Fresh off the heels of the Eurovision rumours, Olly has released a new single for the soundtrack of a new queer movie, Bonus Track.

Such a fun, little queer bop. This took me by surprise this week, wasn’t expecting it.

The way their music continues to go downhill :rip:

To go from serving King, Real, All for You and Palo Santo to this is a tragedy.

It's cute but a song like this would flop at Eurovision. It would end up ranking 12th on everyone's list and get no points

Think that song title is more hideous than never not gonna dance again :rip:

This is the only bop they've served since 2018 tbh.

I think it’s bc the other two bandmates left. Their stuff together is incredible and everything after the split has been trash honestly, which is so sad.

I can agree on some of the stuff that's being said about Night Call. However, I don't understand what kind of a magnum opus, lyrical masterpiece of a song people expect when they click on a soundtrack song that's clearly for a teen romcom. It's a mindless feel-good song - enjoy it, idk.

The other two band mates were the musicians for sure. I think going solo and trying to make his entire personality and aesthetic camp has detracted the ability to take him seriously. Z

So  don't get the hate for NC? Bop after bop after bop

I actually think this is a very cute track :jamming:

I didn't connect with a lot of the Night Call music, but this I'm really liking!

The constant Night Call bashing is getting old. We get it. You listened to it once and decided you hated it. Much like people did with Love + Fear.

While I don't think it's as sharp as Palo Santo, it's still a decent pop record. Starstruck, Consequences, Muscle, Immaculate, Intimacy, Crave? Come on now. Those are all bangers.

(Their debut is the one that's the most overrated outside of a handful of tracks...)
