AOC: “Pelosi made my life hell, life has gotten much better since she stepped down”

I think the most disappointing thing about AOC is that she's more of a social media activist than an actual legislator working to whip up the votes to actually threaten the establishment. She doesn't want to be the one to get her hands dirty by withholding votes, drawing hard lines, etc. which would give her a few days of negative headlines. Yeah I'm sure Nancy gave you headaches, by why didn't you give her even more? Why are you just complaining about it after the fact?

If progressive politicians want to actually achieve things they have to learn to stop giving af which toes they step on or guardrails they go against. The Tea Party and now MAGA Republicans have always had a very bold and take no prisoners approach.

The gag is Pelosi came in just as, if not more, hot than AOC. The difference? By that point she was a mother of 5, a prolific fundraiser, and understood how government worked.

Using her prowess and calculation, she was able to literally snatched power from the establishment and re-establish the party in her (more progressive) image. People don’t realize that she was NEVER in line to become Speaker. Let alone the first woman Speaker. And she rose to prominence first as a Minority Leader, so she was charged with leading the offensive against the ruling party. That’s how she built her credibility within the caucus, by WINNING.

If AOC had any of those other qualities, she might be formidable. But she’s quite literally just a far left influencer. Like Ted Cruz, but for the left.  She has her Twitter and her little IG lives, yet none of the teeth behind it. Put simply, AOC is a loser.

I didn't realize Nancy Pelosi had actual stans in here omg... you people will stan anything

Why would the most effective progressive legislator of our lifetime NOT have stans?

She’s done more for Americans than Bush, Obama, Hillary, or even Trump. Joe Biden’s presidency is broadly progressive largely due to her.   She’s exactly who progressives say  they want in a politician (like everything Bernie claims to be, Pelosi has done). But she doesn’t have the right socialist aesthetic or w/e.

A huge portion of the electorate is on Twitter, there's nothing wrong with using it.

Yea sure Twitter is a tool. AOC is great and i align with what she believes in. But I do believe being a quiet storm is more effective

Maybe because we should not be stanning politicians....? Pelosi has also done a fair share of bad things and been a roadblock for progressives, sometimes even going as far to back more centrist-leaning candidates to try and block progressive candidates despite the policies those candidates support are popular amongst the base!

Tell that to progressives, who have the worst habit among everyone across the political spectrum of stanning political personalities.

And no, Pelosi has not done that. You’ve been propagandized by people (leftists) who suck at politics and love to lose elections. That talking point was distorted from Pelosi’s policy of supporting ALL incumbents in their races. The logic being, if they won the first time, they know how to win again.

Leftists, aka the biggest losers in politics, want everyone to bow down to their coronated candidates without having to earn their spots. If their policies are so popular, they can win a primary and a general, and only THEN expect to have the same support as sitting members.

The very posters who flock to threads to point out the truth that most Democrats are just lite Republicans are also in here saying AOC needs to *checks notes* whip up votes for progressive policies from these same Dems???

This truly makes no sense. A junior congresswoman swimming in a sea of conservatives literally does not have the power to pass progressive policies with the way out government is structured. At all.

The tea is that it's very important to give any airtime to progressive policies we can, so AOC being vocal about policy on social media is actually a great thing. She has obviously played a big part in radicalizing younger voters, and that's still important work.

Interesting. While I buy it to an extent, at the same time, it's not as if AOC has not pivoted some and compromised some of her own supposed progressive values and principles with some of the more recent positions she's taken.

AOC has never been more irrelevant than she is now since her political career started. The left in America has been dead since Biden was nominated in 2020; center-right is the best you can ever hope for from now on

She must have brought her some stock trading tips and a necklace made out of garlic. Smart queen! :gaycat3:
