Money, Please Me, Wap, Up, Tomorrow 2 all easily made money as did the singles before that. Hot **** and Bongos have both done 500k units and the Bongos video was partially paid with advertisements... there's not some huge loss here. the only issue with Cardi is she doesn't want to work anymore. investing in your artist is the STANDARD business model it doesn't make her fake or untalented... they got that money back and made millions from her celebrity
apasionata Posted November 24, 2023 Posted November 24, 2023 If someone showed me this thread this day back in 2018 after all that had unfolded..
Mocha Posted November 24, 2023 Posted November 24, 2023 BOMBOS was bas bad but i don't think it warrants a label drop
jakeisphat Posted November 24, 2023 Posted November 24, 2023 (edited) Oh, please. She is one of their top earners - and even when she "underperforms" her singles still chart for weeks. Some artists drop straight off after week 2... But instead of looking to fraudulent documents from Bardi Gang Jr., you can read the actual 2023 AR here: https://www.sec.gov/ix?doc=/Archives/edgar/data/1319161/000131916123000036/wmg-20230930.htm Quote Our Recorded Music business, home to superstar recording artists such as Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars, Cardi B and Dua Lipa, generated $4.955 billion of revenue in fiscal 2023, representing 82% of total revenues. Our Music Publishing business, which includes esteemed songwriters such as Twenty One Pilots, Lizzo and Katy Perry, generated $1,088 million of revenue in fiscal 2023, representing 18% of total revenues. We benefit from the scale of our global platform and our local focus. 2023 was WMG's best financial year in its history, exceeding $6 billion in annual revenue. Cuts aren't needed. Happylittlepunk Posted November 24, 2023 Posted November 24, 2023 I love cardi B music and she dropped a better album than nicki ever did. But if Atlantic decides to drop her it’s understandable. Cardi been refusing to release an album in 5 years and she been refusing to go on a world tour. doing individual shows here and there every once a while does not count and it’s not consistent enough for the label to rely on cardi. 1

UnusualBoy Posted November 24, 2023 Posted November 24, 2023 Doubt it's truth but if it is, she earned it for being lazy.
