Joyride Posted November 23, 2023 Posted November 23, 2023 Quote “Hello everyone, I am Serafim Abreu, the CEO of Time for Fun, I’ve decided to record this video to talk directly to the customers, fans and the general public about the issues that happened during Taylor Swift’s show in Rio de Janeiro We know the enormous responsibility we have being the organizers of events like this one, of such this size, and that’s why we never have and never will cut resources or efforts to keep hosting these kind of events, applying the best practices in the world and in in this business to guarantee the comfort and safety of every atendee. Still, we encountered an extreme heatwave during the weekend with a high thermic sensation that was not foreseable. Yes, we admit we could’ve taken better and additional measures, in addition to all the ones we already had in place, like, for example, finding ways to avoid the fan's exposure to the sun, change the show’s start time and allow people to come inside the venue with water bottles. We know we are experiencing new challenges due to climate change, with these kind of problems being more and more frequent. We also acknowledge the fact that the entire industry has to take new measures during this new reality. Regardless, I would like to apologize to every fan that didn’t have a good experience at the show. Bringing you quality shows will always be our compromise, we also apologize for the lateness of this statement, but we were focused on implementing these new changes to avoid future issues. Sadly, for the first time in over 40 years, we’ve experienced the death of a fan during one of the shows organized by Time for Fun, we are absolutely devastated and sad over the passing of Ana Clara, a fan who was quickly assisted by our medical team, exhausting all of our resources both at the event and at the hospital. To Ana’s family, our most sincere condolences. I make this public statement to show our support to the family in any way needed; as we’ve already reached out to them. We will also be assisting them with the help of a lawyer that will represent them in future instances. We’ve contacted them via phone calls and written letters. We understand the damage we've done is irreparable and respect the family’s privacy during these times. And again, we are offering our full support in any way needed. For the fans assisting the upcoming shows in São Paulo, we are working to provide you with an incredible show, we will be providing extra security and allowing people to bring their water bottles inside the venue. All new measures will be posted on our site and will be publicly available.” https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cz_RJ9ouk0i Quote Police in Brazil have reportedly opened a probe into the organizers of last Friday’s oppressively hot Taylor Swift concert that left one fan dead and the pop star gasping for air. A rep for Rio de Janeiro’s Civil Police Department said they launched an investigation into Time4Fun, the company that arranged the event at Estádio Olímpico Nilton Santos on November 17, according to NBC News. https://www.tmz.com/2023/11/23/taylor-swift-concert-police-investigation-fan-dies-heat-rio-brazil/?adid=social-tw
latingrl2005 Posted November 23, 2023 Posted November 23, 2023 Everyone is busy blaming Taylor..... 2 17
Beyonnaise Posted November 23, 2023 Posted November 23, 2023 It’s not the popular or easy thing to do on social media but I think Taylor is playing her cards right. I mean think about it, it would be much better PR for her to make grand gestures toward the family and send a lot of money to them, than what’s happening right now. But anything she says or does in relation to the death will be used against her by T4F in court (who are truly to blame as the event organizers and hosts who didn’t allow water during a heatwave). 11 1 4

When she's most likely been advised against speaking out and/or donating. Her paying for Ana's burial and funeral arrangements could be perceived as accepting responsibility per Brazilian legislature, thus implicating her unfairly (according to various lawyers - this isn't my opinion). Imagine the optics of billionaire Taylor Swift reaching out to the family and not offering financial assistance... better not to reach out at all. Edited November 23, 2023 by Carry My Heart 4 2
KingWitch Posted November 23, 2023 Posted November 23, 2023 (edited) Ms Swiftie is cracking that whip, probably said release this statement or else I cancel everything Can't hear what he's saying but did he say anything about offering financial assistance to the family of the girl who died ? Did you even watch the video or know portuguese? They’re not blaming her. They took responsibility, tried to pay off as good guys that tried to implement the changes as fast as they could, and blamed on the heatwave. They will probably settle the damages and justify on the heatwave for authorities. Taylor herself was not mentioned at any point as a decision-maker by them. They also have offered condolences and support for the family. A tad late, but appreciated and I hope the investigation condemns them to fines and better policies and international artists stop coming through them 6
CBC Posted November 23, 2023 Posted November 23, 2023 Seemed like a fair and honest statement to me. I hope they are indeed in contact with the family and paying for damages even if they will never bring Ana back. May she rest in peace 3
Cruel Summer Posted November 23, 2023 Posted November 23, 2023 While I hope that T4F steps in to cover every monetary cost to the family, I would also like the police investigation to proceed and for T4F to be held legally liable. If what we’ve read about the conditions at that stadium is true, they created a dangerous environment for everyone at that concert and even blocked emergency exits. Their unconscionable handling of the organization of these events cannot be allowed to pass without consequence when they contributed to a needless death. 6 minutes ago, KingWitch said: Can't hear what he's saying but did he say anything about offering financial assistance to the family of the girl who died ? From what I’m reading elsewhere, he said this at one point: “To Ana Clara’s family, I want to express our most sincere condolences and publicly express our willingness to provide assistance in whatever is necessary.” I would argue that they shouldn’t just “express willingness,” but directly reach out and attempt pay for the funeral and other costs immediately. 1
Raphy23 Posted November 23, 2023 Posted November 23, 2023 They are disgusting, money hungry, corrupt rats!

Joyride Posted November 23, 2023 Author Posted November 23, 2023 I've updated the post with my very own translation.
AMIT Posted November 23, 2023 Posted November 23, 2023 Quote we will be providing extra security and allowing people to bring their water bottles Oh so now they will be ''allowing'' water bottles inside their shows? Everyone in the company's board including CEO and shareholders should be held accountable for this poor girl's death, but we know they won't be. This is what happens when you put profits above human lives. Disgusting and revolting. 1 1
Mariya Takeuchi Posted November 23, 2023 Posted November 23, 2023 I find the line about the fans condition exhausting their resources disrespectful and I'm saying zilch about that climate change bs
More Than A Melody Posted November 24, 2023 Posted November 24, 2023 That's all I'm gonna say about that statement. I hope Ana rests in peace and her family is given all the resources they need and more. 2 2
BtDecember Posted November 24, 2023 Posted November 24, 2023 But of course Taylor Swift was the one being villainized and called a “murderer,” and ATRL will respond to me with “no one called her that!!!1!1!1” Thankfully they are taking responsibility tho. 10 2 2
brazil Posted November 24, 2023 Posted November 24, 2023 "finding ways to avoid the exposure to the sun, change the show’s start time and allow people to come inside the venue with water bottles." They only started doing that in the day after the death though. 1
