Hollywood as a liberal institution is going to have to - at some point likely soon - reconcile with the reality that criticism of powerful industry figures who are religiously or passionately dedicated to the state of Israel as a political ideology is not the same as accusing Jewish people at large of running some hidden media-controlling cabal and that Jewish-Americans (and non-Jewish given that most American Zionists are Christians!) who happen to use their wealth and influence to normalize the subjugation of Palestinians should be treated no differently than any powerful individual using their wealth to unfairly silence others.

 

Wealthy Zionists trying to silence those who are pro-Palestinian should be treated like wealthy Evangelicals trying to silence those who are pro-LGBTQ.

 

Imagine if an Evangelic owner of a media company fired an actor for speaking out in support of trans healthcare or an actress speaking out in defense of abortion.

I don't think the censoring and firing and blacklisting of Palestinian support is happening because of some badly placed duty of care to Jewish people. I think it's happening because zionists are indeed in power. That does not mean I believe some harebrained conspiracy about Jews controlling media. Like you said, most zionists are christians! It's a US establishment thing, not a religious thing, but I firmly believe the Hollywood establishment (and all big moneymakers in the US, and most of the west, really) is controlled by zionists. Biden isn't giving Israel 14 billion dollars by mistake.

The people here just replacing the word Jews with zionists but perpetuating the same conspiracy that has been rampant for 2000+ years that Jews are just controlling people. “Biden isn’t giving Israel 14 billion dollars by mistake.” So what is being implied? That Zionists (Jews) are actually secretly controlling the US government? 
 

Jesus Christ.  Beyond being the one and only Jewish state in the world that was borne out of refuge for those escaping the Holocaust / expulsion and persecution from neighboring Arab countries), maybe the US supports/provides funds for

Israel because it is the only democracy in the region - like the U.S.- and a key strategic ally in the middle east. You can question whether that unwavering momentary support is still justified given Israel’s right-wing shift and increasing state sponsored aggression toward Palestinians. You can also argue whether US policy generally to align and support other nations/blocs with similar agendas and state structures - ie the EU, Australia, Japan - is right or wrong.
 

But to imply it’s solely out because of “Zionist” puppet masters controlling the government is… incorrect and pushing an age-old antisemitic conspiracy.

Also you can try to separate Zionism from Judaism by saying more Zionists are Christian’s but that’s misleading. There are more people that are Christian than Jews in the US who support because.. Jews are just 2% of the nation, Christians are the majority, and a majority of the country supports the right for Jews to have a state (Zionism), so by default there are more Christian’s that are Zionists lol. This isn’t just some white, right-wing evangelical fantasy. The overwhelming majority of Jews - Democrats and Republicans - support Israel’s right to exist.

I'm not implying anything, it's literally spelled out.

Israel is basically America's 51st state, a military base and an ally in the Middle East. Biden said that if Israel didn't exist, "we'd have to invent it" in 1983. It's literally not about religion and not about Judaism. I've spoken against antisemitism on this very forum time and time again. Judaism and zionism have zero correlation. Most zionists are CHRISTIANS. It's the same f*cking power that got people fired and blacklisted during the Iraq war. Ask The Chicks!!!

 

You should be against the idea that a Jewish state needs to exist to keep Jews safe. That's antisemitic. The idea that you need to ship all Jews somewhere else, just so you don't have to worry about protecting them from harm and creating a safe environment is literally one of the reasons Israel was created, and it's insidious as f*ck and the same reasoning why western countries don't take Muslim refugees! They had the same f*cking reaction during and after WWII. How do you think this is a point for Israel existing? A lot of those Jews that had to seek refuge in Israel back in the 40s had to abandon their houses, their families, their jobs, everything they knew. They'd lived in Europe for hundreds of years in some cases. You think it was CUTE going to Israel instead? To this entirely new land in a different continent with different weather, people, and culture? The entire idea of Israel was an ill-conceived project, no matter how you slice it. Jewish and Palestinian people both deserve better.

 

PS: there's nothing to argue, the US needs to stop meddling in foreign countries yesterday. This is absolutely not just my position about Israel.

You do realize that Zionist secretly orchestrated conflict in Arab countries to force the Jews especially in Iraq and Yemen to move to Israel. Bare in mind, the League of Arab States officially banned the emigration of Jews to Israel in 1940s so this is contradicting your accusation. I think it's the right time for people to call out Zionism, there's nothing wrong to criticize this racist fascist ideology and we need people to learn more that Zionist ≠ Jews.

Are you serious? They orchestrated their move to Israel... because they were being persecuted and killed. My family's home – and the homes and stores of thousands of Jews in Yemen who lived there for thousands of years – were burnt to the ground and hundreds were killed. Israel "orchestrated" the escape from Yemen because the Jews living there were being rounded up and threatened. Not to mention that many Arab leaders of the time were working directly with Hitler and the Nazi regime. Don't even try it because it's inaccurate and offensive. You can disagree with Israel but now you're implying a secret "Zionist" ring was orchestrating the persecution of the Jewish people and somehow working with Nazi collaborators?
