Digitalism Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 But do you see? People keep saying nobody cares about Britney and yet she is the one mentioned here. 6

He thinks that Britney is headlining the Eras Tour Biden cares about the economy There are only two blonde legends who can shift 1M units multiple times. Biden serving taste!
satellites.™ Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 Oh Biden came to GAG the girls a bit. 1
Arcadius Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 Taylor should cover Lucky again on the next leg.
satellites.™ Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 The current sitting POTUS just mistook Taylor Swift, the most visible woman in the world atm, for pop icon Britney Spears. Is Taylor forgettable and just living in mass hysteria for a concentrated era like The Spice Girls or the Macarena? Or is Britney Spears the penultimate pop icon for blonds and old Joe couldn't help but to default to the icon? Discuss? 5 4

byzantium Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 What’s the point of this really? They are both two of the biggest pop icons of the 21st century. 4
krammykins Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 how many times do you want to rehash this tired conversation 3
JorgeM Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 No, maybe for someone in the last years of his life
Trent W Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 Britney is the biggest female icon in music since the 90s, so she is above everyone ins that specific category 3

That is equivalent to saying that if you stopped watching Disney Junior that you live under a rock. People eventually grow up from "popular culture." Look at the population of Elvis's concerts during his first years of fame, it is mostly composed of preteen and teenage girls; do you think those same girls are listening to whoever is a popular singer now or fangirling over a popular boyband? They grew up and moved on. It may seem like everyone knows who a certain celebirty is, but the truth is that it is confirmation bias. Ask your mother when she stopped caring about popular music. Majority of population knows that Taylor doesn't make country music in 2023. Her pop song Cruel Summer is the biggest song this week in the US. She is the most streamed and highest selling artist of 2023. She is all over the media. Those are official stats, not "confirmation bias". Believe me if someone still thinks that Taylor makes country music, 99% chance that they don't even know about the existence of Britney post-2011
Punky Rooster Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 In 100 years Britney will be remembered but Taylor will be lost to history, simply because she is too vanilla and unremarkable. She’s massive, but not very memorable. 1 4 10
Kasix Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 A 75 year old grandpa being stuck in the last generation is not reflective of anything, Just like if your grandpa is raving about Barbara Streisand, you wouldn’t think she’s more iconic than Britney either.
