Dang..morgan really cleaned up

The way Drake is only ahead cause he has so many genre awards but Billboard removed pop categories the year 1989 was massive and during Fearless era BB awards were canceled :chick3:

Only cause they removed 2 weeks of Midnights for no reason

Otherwise Midnights was winning easily :chick3:

Alternate title: Taylor swift overtakes Drake  to become awarded artist in BBMAs history, first artist to win artist of the year 3 times.

lol I was wondering why there are genres of all kind but nothing pop? Is pop “default music” now to bb? Loool

I knew she would win a lot (despite the sabotage from Billboard :skull:) but I’m quite shocked she took home the Global 200 Excl US trophy. Global legend :clap3:

Artists winning 10/11 different awards in one show is literally so stupid - really compromises any credibility that the show has :rip:

Lol

This is… literally an award show based off charts, sales, and streams. The awards are given objectively and not subjectively. Taylor and (unfortunately) Morgan were the biggest in that many categories. That is just… how it works? It’s impossible to undermine the legitimacy when the awards are based off factual data and they’re just awarding what’s there :rip:

Might be one thing if you were talking about awards given out based on a committee or fan voting. However, that’s not what this is and it’s very rare, if not downright impossible, to win this many awards at subjective award shows.

any artist leaving an awards show with THAT many awards does pose the question about how much value and credibility those awards actually hold, surely?

It diminishes any sort of quality or notability to them because of the sheer quantity artists are receiving in one night. If they want to issue awards off commercial success, fine, that’s not the issue, but maybe concise the categories at least :rip:

It is fair to point out how Billboard was clearly wanting to rig this award year to Morgan when Taylor was outselling him on both Album and Touring front (which they had to remove this year for no particular reason)

Taylor Swift and Morgan Wallen are the biggest artists in the US in the past year so it makes sense they are the biggest winners because the billboard awards are based on chart success.

It’s a ridiculous amount of awards but it seems the fairest of all I guess

I’m just glad my fave has a few, there are still some artists with none or 1 :dies:

Do you realize that fraction of 1 % of musicians gets to experience to even be nominated?
That alone puts all attention and weight on these ( and other ) awards.
