Britain, Spain and Italy (especially Italy) are equally seeing the rise of the extreme right.

The whole world is over.

I think we should put value to argentinians thoughts above everyone.
Theyre the ones livin in that country after all :gaycat4: We are talkin from a TV view.
We are not the ones livin the situations and crisis and problems :gaycat2:
we are seeing everything from an outsider perspective and with biases from different right and left wing media

some people are hating bc the title says "trump" and that's it...they don't even know what's going on rn...
- imagine buying a pc for work 142.000$ 6 months later 600.000$ today 840.000$ IN LESS THAN A YEAR and you still with the same salary
- dying bc someone want to steal your phone/car/wallet on the street with no repercussions at all...i got robbed at my house by gun point, second time a dude with a knife, 1 time 2 people kicking my door, robbed at gunpoint on the street, 5 DAYS AGO 1 guy running ON MY CEILING TRYING to check my garden and steal something.....
- 45% more poverty
- politicians getting 1.600.000$ as salary and they keep growing for themselves while basic salary for people is 146.000 and you can't even pay food or rent
- no accountability for corruption...bad public school, bad public hospital, bad public tansport...like literally broke stuff they don't even care...

OH REALLY tell me why we did vote someone that is against this govemernet and actually what they proposes are basics that people needs... they broke us in every single way the only people who support them are the one who they keep as hostage thanks to "social plans" giving them some lil money and say "if you don't vote for me he(Javier Milei) is going to take this away" lies and more lies, iliterate and ignorant people and poor people who depends on it.... so that's on that.

it's just sad that pretty much every presidential election in South America these past few years is just to vote for the lesser evil, we're doomed

People are SICK of the left in latam.

the same will happen in Colombia. Peter has been a JOKE of a president.

look in El Salvador were the left and right wing parties that ruled for 30 years were defeated by a millennial and will win reelection by 80% of the votes.

People are sick of the same politicians and desperately want change and are willing to take a chance on a new guy rather than voting for traditional politicians.

Here in my country, our president has plans for that as a means of control and undermining democracy and im honestly worried and been considering leaving for the States or West Europe or Oceania in the future. I need someone from here to adopt me :giraffe: If I'm not mistaken, Hugo Chávez did something similar. They destroyed the country economy so that everyone became poor, providing scraps-sobras-minimal support-mercaditos to people and using that to control the country.

I'm totally in favor of assistance and anticapitalism and people rights first, but I believe that if it's not done right, it can really destroy countries. It seems that countries like Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, and Norway know how to handle welfare and social safety nets well, but in Argentina, there aren't the same intentions. The Kirchners are clearly corrupt and malevolent.

At the same time, it's worrying that removing these subsidies in the midst of the bad Argentina's situation could create a lot of tension. I hope Milei, even though I have reservations about him cause he looks like chucky and evil, i hope he finds a way to help the country without removing the welfare. I just hope things get better for yll cariñitos :emofish:

Here in my country, we're not doing any better.
We went from having a tremendous post-pandemic recovery with a growth rate of 12%, and an average inflation rate comparable to the rest of Latin America in mid-March, to a sudden halt in the economy, one of the most devalued currencies in the region, a 12% Consumer Price Index (CPI), and a highly likely recession in the coming year.

Looks like the world is goin to ** too with all these wars and problems and the new state of things after covid

Lemme dance before its all over for us

Yes, Milei is basically alone. The rest of the parties control the rest of the government.

Same thing happened to Bukele for the first 2 years. The left and right parties actually joined to vote against everything he proposed and that actually backfired on them because when the senate/assambly elections were held, Bukele’s brand new party won a super majority because people saw he couldn’t govern because the 2 main parties refused to work with him and only like 10 senators (called diputados in El Salvador) from the two traditional parties were left :rip:

The Peronistas (left wing) are to blame. They truly f*cked the country over and nobody is surprised they were voted OUT. In my country (el Salvador) the ultra right and the left socialist party fought a brutal civil war that lasted 12 years during the 80’s, after a peace treaty in 1992, the ultra right party (ARENA) was in power for 20 years, then the left socialist party (FMLN) won for the first time and they governed for 10 years and once in power, they behaved just like the corrupt right wing governments they criticized and fought a bloody civil war. Then came Bukele and he basically won because the 2 main parties had ZERO credibility with the people, especially after being betrayed by the socialist party who claimed were fighting for the poor people. Now the 2 parties are pretty much extinct lol. I think this is a protest vote the argentine people are sick of Peronismo. Same thing will happen  in the US when Trump wins again. And it’s their fault for not proposing real change or presenting a strong alternative to the same old politicians who people no linger trust.

I can imagine what it's like being stuck between a rock and a hard place. The DNC is an absolute joke and is so out of touch. The DNC knows Biden's chances against Trump in a round 2 is not going go in their favor. They're so damn arrogant! Trump set a precedent when he won the presidency. DNC not being able to set their own precedent and prioritize a candidate that's not tied to Biden's administration will be why Trump can have a clear path to the White House.

The younger generation desperately wants change, I want change, and our only chance is to vote for a senile fool over a madman because the madman wants to strip away the rights of LGBTQ+, women, and minorities.

The only saving grace for some parts of the country is to vote for governors, state legislators, and local officials that have their constitutions best interest, but even then that's a slippery slope because the majority of politicians are self-serving.

Spill that tea.  Sadly so many of those parties are not good for the LGBTI  :emofish:

i totally get why so many Americans here on ATRL are so so supportive of the left and extreme left and they want the same for the whole world.
Theyre just tired.
The Capitalism in the United States is just too much.  Is Evil.  Is abusive. The overworking
My brother is moving to Arkansas and honestly im terrified :giraffe:
Is insane how the richest-wealthiest country in the planet treat their citizens like paper bags-cattle-nothing
Have u seen the godzilla amounts they have to pay for education?  basic healthcare? rent? in the States?
they should be thriving with all the money they have. Their population is not even that big like China or India
Is so sick. I dont get why Americans are not in this moment rioting in the streets. Their corporations are eating them up and the hyper-wealthy
The democratic party and republican party also look the same. There's no real left party there.
I dont like him but They really need someone like Bernie sanders. Alexandria Ocasio to shake up the whole system.

But in Latinoamerica the situations are different. Of course the right has ****** **** so many things and are responsible for our countries bad state
but Here so many left leaders are dangerous too. We also had insurrectionists left groups like the guerillas in my country
So many dont have good intentions. They just want dictatorships and bloodshell.
This is why so many latinos are moving to the far right and are havin a hard time trusting the left.
After the Venezuelan situation with Maduro so many are concerned.
I wonder if AMLO is the next one in line for a Downfall.

Sadly the far right is not the answer with people like bolsonaro or duterte or Lepeen :giraffe:
it brings more problems for everyone. We really need more moderate left-centrists.  People with more brain and common sense like Shakira
Here we go from pendulum to pendulum. Tal vez es porque no leemos libros :chick3:

In Europe things look so good. Im So jealous of them :gaycat4: They have the best of capitalism and socialism in places like Germany-Sweden-Netherlands-Finland-Norway-Switzerland
But looks like they dont know how to manage the inmigrations issues  well and all those missunderstandings will lead to the Far Right there
Thats what i been reading on reddit in the WorldNewsSub.

Ok this is my final take in this thread. Sorry for the ignorance and if my takes are dumb.
So many ATRLERS are such a conoisseurs in sociology-geopolitics and i feel insecure with their vast knowledge.
Just giving my thoughts as a Latino livin in Southamerica land of Mew :gaycatney2:
Dios bendiga a el Pais de la Furia. Que no caiga al fuego. Que renazca. Manifestando.
Si milei sale malo que no los dañe.

I agree that Bukele definitely reduced the crime but what has he done economically? He in fact has taken more IMF debt to buy bitcoin which crashed. Then he took debt from China, which he will never pay back and will then start selling state assets to China. Tell me I'm wrong.

I'm sorry for your experiences. I was wondering how's the crime situation in Argentina. I just think there should be a way to make economical reform happen without the culture war aspect of it, coming from the right wing, where women and minorities get targeted and attacked.

I agree I have my reservations about him, however if you look at his opposition (and the candidates running against him in February) they’re a joke. Nobody takes them seriously. His opposition failed to come up with a candidate that could go head to head against him: young, polished, well-spoken etc. Instead, they nominated these old men that he will clearly dog walk and easily beat in the election. The opposition should’ve also focused in taking back the assembly so they could check his power from there. Instead they spent the entire last 4 years calling him dictator and crying to the international community and that has had little to no effect with the population. He’s more popular than ever now (I think the Gallup poll that came out this weekend says 93% of the population supports his reelection) and once his second term is over I’m pretty sure his brother Karim will take over because his opposition is a joke and people don’t trust the left or the right. His opposition will have to be someone fresh and not linked to the left or right wing parties. People do not trust them and would rather take a chance on someone else. He will win reelection there’s no way with those high approval numbers he will lose. So the opposition needs to focus on taking back the assembly in the next elections his party is expected to win over 50 assembly seats out of 60 in February :skull:

The non argentinos talking about Peronistas ruining the country... y'all should refrain from speaking about something y'all know NOTHING about. Kirchnerismo and Peronismo are NOT the same. Perón did so much for the working class rights back in his terms as president and Kirchner helped society get back up on their feet after the 01 crisis. CFK was the beginning of the end but still things weren't as bad when she left the power, Macri and the IMF deal is what truly doomed us and our economy. It's downhill from there, including Alberto Fernández mandate

CINCO.

I think he's going no where. He will remove term limits in his second term. Fascists don't give up power that easily.

Instead of the current incompetent opposition, I would instead prefer a more liberal and educated party and which also calls for deregulation and promotes businesses

So Miss Millei already said earlier that he will privatize all the communication sector and start to convert the peso into an American dollar. Cute

You have to live here to understand with Javier Milei won, the inflation you guys don't know how it feels go to the supermarket one day and have an expensive price the the next day it's awful, the insecurity here people who steals, rap3 and kill are free on the streets while you are closed in your house living with fear that's not the country I want. Yes Milei is scary but he was the "best" choice.

now the real problem is that people will start realizing that their wages won't go up and they'll just get the same amount, but in USD, which will not only make them an unstable economy due to lack of power over their own money, but they'll have to play by the United States' ups and downs when it comes to economy. Also, to make the transition into USD as he official currency you have to have enough dollars to make it happen. you can't magically convert ARS into USD :rip: I feel so bad for all my Argentinian friends. I wish them the best.
