Germany considers tying citizenship to recognition of Israel, anti-Zionism = sedition

Under that second draft bill, the acquisition of German citizenship by refugees, asylum seekers or migrants will “be dependent on a commitment to Israel’s right to exist and a declaration that the naturalisation applicant has not pursued or pursued any endeavours directed against the existence of the State of Israel.”

As a consequence, if there are “actual, unshakable indications of an anti-Semitic attitude on the part of the applicant”, according to the bill’s goal, “naturalisation according to their will should be expressly excluded.”

The draft will also ensure that “the protection gaps in the event of a breach of the peace are to be closed and the current penalty range is to be increased and the criminal liability of … appealing for sympathy is to be restored”. It further stated that there should be an increase in “the range of penalties for sedition”, which it defined as “punishment for denying the right to exist of the State of Israel and for calling for the abolition of the State of Israel”.

Careful with that. Russia that fought against fascism...is kind of turning fascist now. All human lives should matter.

There is no way this can be legal?

I really don’t know what to say at this point. It’s quite insane how Israel has the Western world stuck in a trance. It genuinely feels like Israel and the West are partaking in a puppet show, and the Israelis are the puppet masters. Death to all of them.

We had protesters here demanding a caliphate in Germany. This shocked many people here in our country. The people do not want this anymore and demand more control and stricter immigration laws. Even our left wing parties support it. I support immigration and I like diversity but extremists, antisemites, islamists etc. should not be allowed to live in Germany. We have to stop being so naive.

I don't see anything controversial here. It's okay to be against Israels government. It's not okay to be against Israel and its citizens.

Do you think you should have your citizenship stripped as a non-European German if you posted on social media that Israel is an apartheid state?

ITT: ATRLers acting shocked that countries can tie acquisition of their citizenship to whatever conditions they like. Who could have ever imagined that for historic reasons, Germany might be an ally of Israel and would react coolly to its citizens calling for the eradication of all Jews.

Surprisingly enough when you become a naturalized citizen of the USA, you must agree formally to certain points such as reciting the Oath of Allegiance to the USA and denouncing all its "enemies". But it's extremely unsurprising that OP wouldn't know anything about that.

Germany is like a collective Oedipus myth, trying so hard not to repeat the prophecy that they end up repeating it

This is a bill by the conservative opposition, not a government bill.

You really had the gall to post this when you’ve been defending Trump and equating him to Biden for months if not years :rip:

"I don't like Biden and won't vote for him until he supports progressive policies" =/= "Defending Trump"

Again, sorry little neo-nazi, but your far-right propaganda doesn't work here!

Imagine defending nativist immigration policy just because you think it's fine for Europeans to be racists. You #SaveEuropa nazis ARE Trump MAGAS!
