Even if she actually spent $10m on making the film, this is just the domestic opening weekend (she'll have a 4 weekend run). She's also showing this film in another 99 territories, selling popcorn buckets and cups in cinemas, and most likely her own merch in her website once it's out too; and she'll have some streaming deal later on for a some millions too. 

 

How would she not make a profit?

This actually seems pretty good to me. Producing concert films is not very expensive and the production and entertainment value of the concert film was first and foremost used for the tour which was highly successful.

It’s a great film debut for a concert film and quite impressive all things considered.

 

To compare Bey to Taylor is unfair, Taylor is just on another level right now and it’s just unfair to expect our faves to reach those numbers now.

the Eras tour film made $97M in presales, that’s 4.87 Million tickets sold in the US alone.

Similar to the Eras tour film, fanrush for presales inflated the initial projections. A $20M debut would be solid all things considered. Could see it going a touch higher.

Well she’s toured more countries than taylor in her 26 year career while taylor is just stepping outside of the US and Europe for the first time ever. All of Taylor's tours had shows outside of the US + Europe, something none of Beyonce's last 4 tours from the past decade had.

If we go back a decade to this exact date, we see that six days prior she had just wrapped up her 18 shows in Oceania.

 

And before that she did ten shows in Latin America.

I don’t keep up with taylor like that I thought she only went to Japan n. Anyway, Beyoncé has still toured more countries than taylor swift and the most of any female artist other than Shakira. A lot of these countries before taylor even debuted. Yet here you are trying to make it seem like Beyoncé has never stepped foot outside the US. All those 5k shows in those countries and The Eras Tour alone will outgross Beyonce's career total outside the US and Europe.
