XAMJ Posted November 17, 2023 Posted November 17, 2023 Quote ‘Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé’ Hopes To Pull In More Than The Single Ladies With $20M+ Opening Beyoncé Concert Movie Box Office: ‘Renaissance’ Eyes $20M+ Opening – Deadline 1 1
BrandNewBrandon Posted November 17, 2023 Posted November 17, 2023 Cute. A respectable number. Though both Eras and now Ren are inflating their numbers a lot with those ticket prices. From the initial hype Eras movie had it didn't seem as big and kinda came and left. Turns out these movies are mostly fanbase-driven and the GP don't really care. But I'll be watching this one. 1 1 10

dussel_06 Posted November 17, 2023 Posted November 17, 2023 That’s good. With The Marvels bombing, this is enough to be no.1. Congrats!
Kasix Posted November 17, 2023 Posted November 17, 2023 (edited) …it takes about $10m to make the film, and only 1/3 of the grossing will go to her team. will she even make a profit? Edited November 17, 2023 by Kasix

It’s hard to imagine it like that. She was always going to record it anyway for herself (whether or not she released is a totally different thing… *cough* FWT DVD). I think just by selling it to AMC for distribution, she ended up making a profit similar to her Netflix deal for Beychella.

Hurem Posted November 17, 2023 Posted November 17, 2023 Are we seriously gonna pretend $20M debut is bad? You need to grow up
XAMJ Posted November 17, 2023 Author Posted November 17, 2023 To put things into perspective, her tickets are $28. That is less thank 760k people attending. TS had her tickets at 19.89 which was about 4.8 million people on opening weekend 9 1 2
babyboy1 Posted November 17, 2023 Posted November 17, 2023 BOMB A Commercial and a critical failure. 1 1
IceSpice Posted November 17, 2023 Posted November 17, 2023 The fact that regardless of it’s gross it’s still going to be immaculate. She won
Ja_making Posted November 17, 2023 Posted November 17, 2023 It was never going to pull Eras film numbers, matter of fact no other artist now would. It would be a respectable box office debut for any film in the same timeframe.
Kill Me Posted November 17, 2023 Posted November 17, 2023 Will this even go #1 on box office or will the Disney movie block it?

Klein Posted November 17, 2023 Posted November 17, 2023 It's not like anybody expected Beyoncé to do close to Taylor's numbers, bfr. 3 1
ParisxHilton Posted November 17, 2023 Posted November 17, 2023 She’s not Taylor totally respectable for the opening act 2
byzantium Posted November 17, 2023 Posted November 17, 2023 I feel like this actually would do better with more reasonable ticket prices. $30 is just a lot for people to pay to see any movie. 2
airplane Posted November 17, 2023 Posted November 17, 2023 how is this bad? thank you for reminding me to get my tickets though.
Doogle Posted November 17, 2023 Posted November 17, 2023 The GP want visuals!! Good numbers, great to see Bey still succeeding all these years later
Embustera Posted November 17, 2023 Posted November 17, 2023 Why are her tickets so expensive in the USA? I bought tickets for a normal cinema price in The Netherlands.
