The Bongos floppage took a toll on her:ahh:

The last couple of months she's talked a lot about how much the pressure gets to her. Cardi is A LOT at times but I do appreciate how honest and open she is about the fact that fame is hard on her and she obsesses over failure and not meeting people's expectations of her. I think she's too in her head and is too chard obsessed like a lot of celebs these days, just make good music and let the fans enjoy it but either way this isn't surprising.

It's prob for the best for her mental health tbh

As she should. Being proactive with your mental health is vital, loving that for her :heart2:

The ugly & miserable haters will have to drop the faux support for other girls now that their go-to scapegoat is gone.  An interesting (and unsurprising) turn of events is yet to come.

No one wants to wake up to the news I woke up to this morning. No one. I was preparing my coffee, turning on wi-fi and the first thing I read is: “Cardi B announces hiatus from the music industry”. I blinked my eyes countless times and I went on Facebook just to see more and more posts about it. I couldn’t believe it. My WAP dream was over and there I was at 8AM sitting in my kitchen looking at the screen of my iPhone.

I know this may sound a bit too much but… Yes. Tears started falling from my eyes and they wouldn’t stop. I don’t consider this to be an over dramatic reaction like many of you could easily consider. I look at it as unconditional love, dedication and passion. Something unexplainable, no one can translate love into words or even admiration. Some people get your attention and you don’t know why. And while I am fully aware that Cardi B is OVER, I also am aware that it’s never going to be the same. I saw this rapper being born when she was just one little girl. A few years later she turned into a strong and confident woman and extremely inspirational. She RUINED the term “female rapper” in the music industry and scored two of the biggest hits of this new decade. I was obsessed and extremely proud of it.

I’ve always been aware that female rappers are not meant to last and that’s why I flew to Paris just to see her live last year. I knew this was a fast career and that’s why I spent over 800€ on this girl (I’ve watched her live twice, I met her twice, I bought her music, I took a trip just to see her, paid hotel… You make the counts!). I wanted to live it as much as I could and looking back I am so proud of every single thing I did for them. They brought back my fan vein in a way I’ve never experienced before. Lil Kim, Nicki Minaj… They’re both established artists and it’s another story on how their careers are handled.

Every Cardi fan was aware that Cardi was not happy. Ever since “WAP” became a smash, something went wrong and the relationship between Cardi and her career has always been weird. There’s indifference and I don’t know what to think. Nonetheless, I am no one to judge that. All I want to make clear is: Cardi B is OVER and that’s why I feel like my dream has been crashed. My Cardi B dream has ended. It hurts so bad when you’re not prepared… After all she announced a second album last month.

And no. I am not turning my back on Cardi. This was a rough decision but I know what it's like to be in a place where you don't belong or feel included and sometimes... It's better to just go for it.

Yet, I always like to see things from the bright side and I am going to always support Nicki Minaj. She's had an amazing and beautiful impact in my life.

Cardi B… Good luck. Belcalis Marlenis Almanzar… Good Luck.

Cardi B… Thank You. You’ve given me the ultimate fan experience and you’ve been so inspirational.

I mean, she was always more of a social media personality than a true musical artist. If you don't have that musical creativity it's no surprise you'd be tired of keeping up with the industry. It's clear her heart isn't in it.

True. You can tell she was just in it for the success. She lacks the passion and drive that people like Nicki and Doja have.

She really should have dropped an album in the Q2 2021 or something... well! Now her records no longer live in the top 10 I fear

Not her going on hiatus when her sophomore album isn't even out and she already released 4 singles off of it :deadbanana2:

I get it, but at the same time taking a hiatus after only releasing an album 6 years ago is kinda not it. KInda disrespectful to her fans.

The way her career has been this tweet since IOP :rip:

I mean, good for her but it’s not like she didn’t try to have a comeback, people simply didn’t connect with her material after WAP.

UP was a number one hit after WAP. Tomorrow 2 was also a hit. But she never released the second album and her songs became mediocre lately. She destroyed her career.
