Storm653 Posted November 15, 2023 Share Posted November 15, 2023 (edited) Even Rod Wave's who is hardly a crossover act managed to have a strong run this year and he's doing arenas. And Steve Lacy has a strong buzz too. Men are doing fine. It's just that Western Pop as a whole is on decline in favor of K Pop and regional/international music and women always had more representation in the Western Pop space than men. And, even then when you take Taylor Swift out of the picture, Western MPG's are doing all that great either. Olivia's album was good but didn't feel like a massive event. The Indie Pop scene is doing strong though even though they're not exactly topping the charts or major icons. Most artists are now only making music but earn the most money from advertising and touring. Touring takes lots of energy so they don’t do that either anymore.
