They really were the perfect ensemble cast. Nobody else - literally nobody else - could play their characters in Friends. Whatever chemistry was, they just got it.

 

It's beautiful that they really were just as close off screen as they were on. You can tell by reading just one of the tributes what Matthew meant to all of them.

The cast bonding is truly what make the show become iconic as it is. They are close friends in the series and in real life. And its a horrible feeling to witness your friend mental health struggles and went out like that.
