They don’t need her outdated advice for anything. She really think she the HBIC huh?

Why are you being so rude to Ms. Patti? What has she done to warrant calling her wisdom outdated?

She is one of the most consistent and still slaying vocalists in pop music history and could be asked about a great many things.

Ms. Patti has been working since the early 1960s, going from girl group to other girl group to solo, to acting toto being an AIDS advocate to launching products ... she's covered so much of what they're doing in some respects.

When I saw Patti LaBelle live in 2008, she mentioned that Beyoncé had called her for advice on singing Somewhere Over the Rainbow, a song that has been a staple for Ms. Patti since the 1960s. Beyoncé sang the song the year prior at Movies Rock.

Now, Ariana Grande is in the film production of Wicked, which itself has a connection to that song. Not sure if that's at all been a topic of discussion but it's interesting to note.

“Hey Patti do you have any good sample ideas for this gay ass house music album I’m making?”

This seems to suggest the absurdity of such a question, and yet she'd actually be a GREAT person to call for this, having been a gay icon since she basically started, having been all about fashion and stage glamour ("drag" as she calls it) in the 1970s and 1980s and surrounded by gay love, having being the first Black pop act to play at the Metropolitan Opera House and putting on the invite "WEAR SOMETHING SILVER" (way back in 1974), having been friends, mentors and collaborators to famous gays like Elton John, Sylvester, and Luther Vandross (who was the president of the Patti LaBelle fan club before his fame), having been one of the FIRST celebrities to publicly put her face aligned with AIDS in order to raise awareness.

Y'all a mess. :rip: For Ariana, she has known Patti since she was 17 years old, and even came to sing at her 18th birthday party.

It’s the ignorance in this thread for me.

Every vocal or singing gal would want advice from one of the last living vocal legends who is 79 years old and still able to out sing MANY of the new gals let’s be for real now.

Not that it matters, but why would someone downvote posts defending Patti LaBelle? How bothered by this legend do you have to be to see someone bringing up the fact that she has knowledge and wisdom and think that's worthy of a THUMBS DOWN? Grow up!

and not to mention Patti had a funny cameo in the Dilemma video playing Kelly's mother. It was quite fitting since Dilemma samples one of her classics. Patti been AUNTIE and MOTHER to many younger divas and icons across different age groups.

Beyoncé's learned from the best, that's why she's where she is today :clap3:

It felt very wholesome to hear her say that!

Shame on all of you who have no respect for the generations of icons that have come before the washed up starlets you stan for nowadays.

Well I'm not sure if she gets money from it but it samples an 80s song of hers called Love, Need and Want You.
