honestopinion Posted November 12, 2023 Posted November 12, 2023 Spotify played me this song on autoplay and this is such a mid song, it just has nothing special to listen it again. Dance the night was much better, Mark Ronson' production >>>> 1

People don’t seem to care about Dua Lipa the person. That’s not true. The issue is no one really cares about her artistry but like her as a person/model/celebrity. Her music is so impersonal that no one really gravitates to want to stan her for it. It doesn’t mean she’s faceless, it’s just no one is that invested in her music because it can be sung by anyone. Even Katy Perry had a very distinct image and sound that seemed very “Katy” in her peak which is why even without a big fan base she still had instant smash lead singles Edited November 12, 2023 by Gaia 11
spiritboy Posted November 12, 2023 Posted November 12, 2023 When will people learn that with Dua it's about longevity, not where it debuts. 1
Obsession Posted November 12, 2023 Posted November 12, 2023 The song is boring but that didn't stop Dance The Night in the long run, we'll see what happens - but honestly, she herself is so removed from the public, when the music doesn't hit, there's really nothing to support so 1

Shaner69 Posted November 13, 2023 Posted November 13, 2023 This song is not mid. It's a bop it's only been 3 days you people are hilarious. Anyways stream this haters. 1

Even Katy Perry had a very distinct image and sound that seemed very “Katy” in her peak which is why even without a big fan base she still had instant smash lead singles ... literally all my friends were raving about Future Nostalgia when it came out; legit all the album tracks got heavy play The lack of distinction isn't the issue, it's quite the opposite. She released a song that sounds like it could have been part of Future Nostalgia yet again, without the excuse of it being for a movie. She's not innovating her sound, which is the biggest requirement for a female artist to spark continuous interest. Future Nostalgia will soon be four years old... In four years, this is what the typical MPG did: Britney released Baby One More TIme and Toxic, and after that four years later released Gimme More, then four years later released Hold It Against Me Rihanna released SOS, four years later Only Girl / Shut Up And Drive, four years later had Pour It Up Madonna released Like A Virgin, Vogue, Take A Bow, Ray Of Light Beyoncé released Crazy In Love, Halo, Run The World, Drunk In Love All that being said I like Dua's song, and it's the lack of reinvention that's having people lose interest, not it being generic. It's actually quite distinctly Dua, imo. Edited November 13, 2023 by kataraqueen 1
corotinho Posted November 13, 2023 Posted November 13, 2023 Dua Lipa will never make it big for a fanbase cause she never showed us who she is. When i think about Dua, i think about the girl who sings some bops for the clubs. Do we even know who she dates? Who she have some beefs? No, she is just the cute girl singing nice club songs. That’s why she is never debuting high and always demands her label to pay a lot of money on Spotify payola
so_fetch Posted November 13, 2023 Posted November 13, 2023 I was hoping she would debut #1 in the US and it's quite shocking if she doesn't debut #1 in the UK, given that she's supposed to be streaming's biggest female artist.

She deserves success. She's a great dancer. As much as I like taste there's nothing tate has over Dua.
Happylittlepunk Posted November 13, 2023 Posted November 13, 2023 Some fanbases are very brave for coming for Dua debut week.

unclefloprry Posted November 13, 2023 Posted November 13, 2023 Dua debuted with higher numbers than The Weeknd (without Ariana), Bruno Mars or Ed Sheeran, but guess who is the only one who, according to ATRL, "has no interest from the GP?" 1 1

Right she debuted about the same as Gaga's comeback after the highly successful Shallow / ASIB. I guess Gaga also has no fanbase then? 1
krustysalt Posted November 13, 2023 Posted November 13, 2023 No fan base no big debuts. She is introducing us the 2nd stage of Katyperrification, the Dualipication
