I like Dua and the song but the fact that she’s not #1 in the UK at least is underwhelming.

 

It does prove yet again that her fanbase is weak and she needs to work on that. Hope it climbs in the next few days.

DSN was the most streamed female song in 2020 on AM US, Levitating was the most streamed song overall on AM US in 2021… she doesn’t have a strong fanbase in the US but if the GP likes Houdini she will eventually rise on AM.

Uhh...even w/ the highly likely risk I'll get dragged lol I'm def. hearing why Jack's song may end up #1 over Houdini in the UK. It's like the polar opposite kind of song in every way (& not just talking genre). Lovin On Me is extremely watered down, Gen Z bullseye kind of song, organic and goes head first into the repetitive hooks w/ a minimal but effective production & vibe.

 

Houdini is 'Take My Breaths' sexy sister more than ever for me. Not at all bad songs but vulnerable by default for something basic but catchy & Tik Tok friendly. NO idea how this ends up but I wouldn't even be surprised if Dua ends up #3 in the UK at the end of the week (w/ Greedy or something else by early/mid week coming back to #2). But don't at all think Houdini will free fall. Nothing new for her and of course in 6+ months Houdini will still be a bigger hit just as Jack's song is mostly forgotten lol.

Not really a Taylor-only thing. Billie, Olivia and Doja are all pretty successful in AM, especially when they drop their full length albums. These are usually the artists people here compares Dua with, so that’s the reason
