dawnettakins Posted November 10, 2023 Posted November 10, 2023 Wow, how shocking that regular people are against war, ethnic cleansing, and just people being killed! They need to wake up and stop seeing the world through their campaign donors and corporate donor owners' eyes!
Virgos Groove Posted November 10, 2023 Posted November 10, 2023 "There's no apartheid in Israel, I have an Arab CEO" Most logical Zionist argument. 2
Weld_E Posted November 10, 2023 Posted November 10, 2023 Okay now that they’re aware, what are they going to do about it?
Letemtalk Posted November 12, 2023 Posted November 12, 2023 Boomers grew up in a post war environment, where they believed that a tiny nation of Holocaust survivors were fighting off huge Arab armies. No-one heard anything about the Nakba and no-one heard about the Deir Yassin massacre and the depopulation and destruction of over 500 Palestinian villages, but instead were told that Arabs tried to force Jewish people into the sea. They were not told that in places like Jaffa and Acre (Akka), it was the Palestinians that had to flee in boats to escape the Zionist forces. Some of those boats from Jaffa landed in Gaza. People weren't aware that many Israeli prime ministers such as Menachem Begin (Irgun) and Yitzhak Shamir (Lehi) were former terrorists. People were told that Palestinians were anti-Semitic and they were not aware that Israel Eldad, one of the leading members of Lehi, once wrote: Quote It is not Hitler who is the hater of the kingdom of Israel and the return to Zion, it is not Hitler who subjects us to the cruel fate of falling a second and a third time into Hitler's hands, but the British. It wasn't until 1986, that most people found out from information provided to media by nuclear technician Mordechai Vanunu, that Israel had been building nuclear weapons for decades. In recent decades there has been a change, where many people in the west started to see Israel as a regional nuclear superpower, backed up by arguably the only true global nuclear superpower, that supports it as it carries out regular war crimes and ethnic cleansing. It has really been quite recently that people have realised that the peace process has delivered nothing for the Palestinians, but has served to provide an opportunity for Israel to place more and more settlers in the West Bank. Despite Israeli and American claims to support a two state solution, people are beginning to understand, that no Israeli political party will win an election if it promises to dismantle settlements and give back land to the Palestinians. The Democrats are still stuck in the 20th century and don't really know or care about what young people are thinking. 2
