Achilles. Posted November 9, 2023 Posted November 9, 2023 Song of the Year is an award for the songwriter(s). Tracy Chapman is the first black woman to win a CMA award in the association’s 57 year history. “Fast Car” also won Single of the Year for Luke Combs’s performance. 2
Kiss It Better Posted November 9, 2023 Posted November 9, 2023 congrats to her but genuine question, how is it eligible? cause other award shows like grammy wouldn't allow such thing
Weld_E Posted November 9, 2023 Posted November 9, 2023 A timeless classic! I always get annoyed for her whenever a cover of the song becomes a big hit, but i’m glad she’s getting her flowers.

Her version of the song didn’t win; Luke’s version was the song nominated and won but the award goes to the songwriter. Edited November 9, 2023 by jezebelvictoria
liquiddiamonds Posted November 9, 2023 Posted November 9, 2023 The whole Tracy Chapman album is filled with classics. She was at her top form. A black and lesbian woman how about that?
